Abstract
In a directional loop antenna, particularly for television receivers, in which a pair of arcuate conductive members are mounted in opposed relation with their concave sides facing each other to define a loop, a dummy load is connected between two of the adjacent ends of the conductive members and output terminals are connected to the opposite adjacent ends, the conductive members are formed with relatively narrow end portions and relatively wide middle portions to increase the frequency band width and gain of the antenna.

4801944 - Antenna

An antenna which utilizes a conductive loop shaped element and a conductive tap element. The tap element is located directly adjacent the loop element and is precisely tapped to the loop element at one-half the length of the loop element. Connecting between the output terminal of the antenna and terminals of the loop element and the tap element are a plurality of tuning capacitors. The resulting antenna is small in size and is sensitive to a wide band of frequencies with respect to the center frequency of the antenna.

6911947 - Method and apparatus for reducing multipath distortion in a television signal - Owned by Thomson Licensing S.A. (Boulogne-Billancourt,FR)

The disadvantages associated with the prior art are overcome by a method and apparatus for reducing multipath distortion in a television signal. Specifically, a plurality of antenna elements receive spatially unique replicas of a desired television signal. The spatially unique replicas are coupled to an adaptive combiner, which generates a spatially combined signal to be coupled to a television receiver. The adaptive combiner forms a weighted summation of the spatially unique replicas, which effectively places spatial nulls in the direction of the multipath interference. The weighting information is provided by an adaptive controller that uses intelligence from a multipath processor located within the apparatus. The intelligence may take the form of a figure of merit derived from the combiner output, or from processing preformed on the input signals themselves.

6791508 - Wideband conical spiral antenna - Owned by The Boeing Company (Chicago, IL)

A spiral antenna having a horizontal member that terminates wires for conducting and radiating signals provides increased efficiency over the HF transmission range in a smaller size construction. A load having a parallel RLC circuit is provided at about the center of the horizontal member. The wires are provided in an elliptical pattern with the spacing between wires provided arithmetically. The wires are further configured symmetrically around a vertical support member. A balun transformer is also provided for impedance matching with a feed line.
