Abstract
Various aircraft parameters are sensed by function sensors, the outputs of these sensors being fed to a signal conditioner and evaluator where the signals are processed and the magnitudes of these various parameters evaluated. When the magnitude of any of these parameters is above or below certain predetermined limits, an output signal is fed to a transmitter which transmits a voice message indicating the out-of-limits condition. The occurrence of out-of-limit conditions for any of these parameters is also digitally encoded and recorded for future reference. Certain outputs of the signal evaluator and conditioner indicative of selected aircraft flight and operating conditions are continually fed to a digital data encoder where they are placed in suitable condition for recording in digital form and from where they are fed to a continually recycling recorder for recordation.

4314232 - Voice warning system for an automotive vehicle - Owned by Nissan Motor Company, Limited (Kanagawa,JP)

A voice warning system for an automotive vehicle wherein an automatic vehicle speed control device is incorporated, whereby various items of information such as listed below are conveyed to the vehicle driver in voice form at a suitable volume level without confusion with one another and reliably because of a priority order within the items. The items of information to be conveyed to the driver are in the priority order (1) an actual vehicle speed when an accelerate or decelerate switch is turned on and a driver desired speed set when the accelerate or decelerate switch is turned off (2) a vehicle speed warning when the actual speed exceeds preset speed limit and (3) a trip distance the automotive vehicle has traveled.

3925751 - Glide slope warning system with a variable warning rate - Owned by Sundstrand Data Control, Inc. (Redmond, WA)

In a system where the aircraft's distance below a radio glide slope is compared with the aircraft's altitude above ground to generate either an advisory voice warning or a command voice warning depending upon the aircraft's altitude and distance below the radial glide slope beam, the repetition rate of the advisory voice warning is varied as both a function of distance below the radio glide slope beam and of altitude in order to generate advisory warnings at a rate reflecting increasing danger to the aircraft. This is accomplished by integrating the glide slope deviation signal over time and comparing it with a radio altitude signal so as to generate a signal for triggering the advisory warning as a function of the glide slope deviation and the radio altitude thereby generating the advisory warnings as a function of decreasing radio altitude and increasing deviation from the glide slope.

3999015 - Aircraft multi-communications system - Owned by Genie Electronics Co., Inc. (Red Lion, PA)

An aircraft communication system adapted to provide a plurality of communication paths from respective inputs to a plurality of outputs, the communication paths being flexible in arrangement and operator control. For use in an aircraft, the system combines an intercom for voice transmission between pilot, co-pilot and passengers, along with channels for external radio reception and transmission by pilot and co-pilot. The system also provides enabling of transducer outputs only upon detection of input signals above a given threshold, and automatic monitoring of aircraft supply voltage conditions with visual and audio outputs. Specific features of the invention include: (a) audio source input circuits feed a common point which is connected to a threshold VOX switch circuit; (b) the VOX switch circuit controls a recorder, additional audio inputs, and a master amplifier circuit inputted from the common point and connectable to output transducers, whereby signals from the audio sources are outputted only when the common point signal exceeds the predetermined threshold; and (c) the audio source input circuits include aircraft power supply high and low detection circuitry.

3838445 - EVENT RECORDING SYSTEM - Owned by EDMAC Associates Inc. (Rochester, NY)

Apparatus is disclosed wherein analog signals produced by a plurality of sensors are multiplexed and applied to an analog to digital converter wherein each analog signal is converted to a digital word signal. The apparatus further includes circuitry which is responsive to the digital word signals when any one of such signals represents the amplitude of an analog signal above a selected value for causing a tape transport mechanism to be energized.

3903200 - Continuous mass polymerization process for ABS polymeric polyblends - Owned by Monsanto Company (St. Louis, MO)

This invention relates to a process for the continuous mass polymerization of a monomer formulation comprising at least principally of a monoalkenylaromatic monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer having dispersed therein a first grafted diene rubber to form a first partially polymerized mixture; dispersing a second grafted rubber in said first mixture forming a second partially polymerized mixture and polymerizing said second mixture to form a third partially polymerized mixture followed by devolatilization said third mixture to form a polyblend of the polymer of said monomer and said dispersed grafted diene rubber having a bimodal particle size distribution.
