5809914 - Agricultural implement with pivoting carrier frame

An agricultural implement includes a forward implement frame and an aft carrier frame with wheels, with the two frames pivotally connected. The implement frame includes a hitch mechanism for attaching the implement to a traction vehicle, while a toolbar having a plurality of working units, such as ground working tools or spraying units, arranged in a spaced manner along its length is attached to an aft portion of the implement frame. Attached to the carrier frame is a storage container for dispensing material such as fertilizer or a herbicide. A forward portion of the carrier frame is pivotally coupled to an intermediate portion of the implement frame. A lift arrangement including a pair of hydraulic cylinders connecting the implement and carrier frames is located aft of the pivot connection between these two frames and permits the toolbar and working units to be raised to a nonuse position such as for transport or at the end of a field without lifting the storage container and its contents. The center of gravity of the storage container is preferably forward of the support wheels for exerting a downward force on the toolbar and working units. Adjustable linkage is provided for leveling the toolbar when in the lowered, use position. Left and right wing sections extend outwardly from the toolbar and also have working tools attached thereto. The wing sections are adapted for forward pivoting displacement to a nonuse position such as for transport or storage by a pair of hydraulic cylinders.

3956999 - Earthworking implement with automatic fluid flow shut-off manifold - Owned by Chem-Farm, Inc. (Evansville, IN)

An earthworking implement such as a tractor-drawn chisel plow having a fertilizer tank is provided with an automatically operated control system for fluid dispensing when the implement is work configured. In one embodiment the implement is provided with a rockshaft for moving implement wheels between a wheels up, implement working position and a wheels down, implement transport position. An interconnector cable is wrapped at one end around the rockshaft. As the rockshaft turns and rotates the wheels into the implement working position, the cable pulls the valve stem of a fluid metering valve partially out of the valve, thereby opening the valve and permitting fluid flow.

3793967 - MANURE SPREADER - Owned by The Lely Corporation (Wilson, NC)

A manure spreader comprising a frame movable over the ground and a container mounted on said frame. A dispensing device is provided for supplying liquid manure from the container to an area under the ground surface. The dispenser has coupling points by means of which it is attachable to the three-point hitch of a tractor or other propelling vehicle.

3945332 - Apparatus for injecting material into the soil - Owned by Veda, Inc. (Long Lake, MN)

An implement for dispensing liquid and liquid-like materials, as liquid manure and the like, into and below the surface of the soil. The implement has a transverse hollow bar supporting a plurality of earthworking tools. Lift arms controlled with hydraulic cylinders connect the tool bar to a vehicle carrying the material. The vehicle delivers the material through a hose to the hollow tool bar. Separate hoses connected to the tool bar and to nozzles attached to the earthworking tools carry the material from the tool bar to the nozzles for discharge below the surface of the soil behind the earthworking tools.

4681335 - Center pivot hitch assembly - Owned by J. I. Case Company (Racine, WI)

A novel center pivot hitch assembly mechanism is disclosed. The mechanism of the present invention is preferably carried by a wheeled tool bar and a wheeled agricultural implement. The wheeled agricultural implement or cart is typically moved along a path by a tractor. The mechanism of the present invention pivotally connects the wheeled tool bar to the backside of the cart. The mechanism of the present invention comprises a center pivot hitch assembly and a stabilization assembly. The center pivot hitch assembly selectively allows the wheeled tool bar to pivot transversely and vertically in relation to the path along which the wheeled agricultural implement is being moved. The stabilization assembly includes hydraulic fluid actuator means for selectively maintaining tool bar disposition relative to the agricultural implement backside, when the wheeled tool bar is oriented substantially parallel to the backside of the wheeled agricultural implement. An additional feature of the present invention, which causes overhung load on the wheeled tool bar to be centered substantially along the axle of the wheeled agricultural implement when the tool bar is also disclosed.
