3925890 - Spoon attachment for soda straw - Owned by Huntington; Howard E. (Fullerton, CA)

A plastic spoon attachment, integrally molded with a conventional container cover, has spoon bowl wings separated by a tapering tunnel into which a soda straw end fits. When the straw is in place the wings and the periphery of the straw end define a spoon bowl for which the rest of the straw forms a handle. Preferably the spoon attachment and a container cover are injection molded in one piece with a parting line at the juncture of the spoon attachment and the cover.

3840906 - DISPOSABLE BEDPAN - Owned by Med-Pak Corporation (Charleston, WV)

A disposable bedpan comprises an open top pan having a side wall, and a seat at the open top of the pan and having an oval shaped opening for communication with the interior of the pan. The seat and pan have cooperating ring elements of substantially the same diameter and which may be arranged coaxially at any relative orientation and then assembled by snapping one of the ring elements into the other to form a fluid tight seal between the assembled seat and pan. The opening in the seat is approximately flush with the open top of the pan in one region to facilitate emptying the bedpan thereat. In packaging, the seats and pans are separately stacked or nested to save space.

3997634 - Diffuser assembly

This invention relates to a diffuser adapted to aerate a fluid medium, such as sewage in which it may be immersed. The diffuser consists essentially of two elements, namely, a T shaped member, the leg of which is provided with a central bore and adapted to be connected to a source of a fluid medium, such as air, under pressure, while the top is preferably flat and disc shaped. Overlying said top, is a cap or cover which is flexible and adapted to lie contiguous with the surface of said top. Said cap is provided with an annular rim which engages said top along and under the peripheral edge thereof. Finally, means cooperating between said T shaped member and said flexible cover are provided to permit the intermittent release of the fluid medium, such as gas, from said diffuser; however, the flexible nature of said cap in combination with said means is such that the back pressure of fluid medium to be aerated will prevent the flow of such fluid medium through the said diffuser.

3846849 - TWO-PIECE BEDPAN - Owned by Tri-State Hospital Supply Corporation (Howell, MI)

A plastic bowl member and a plastic seat member are designed to be resiliently interlocked to form a two-piece bedpan. When the bedpan is assembled, a continuous ridge disposed along the top edge of the bowl member resiliently engages the seat member to provide a positive, resilient interlock between the bowl member and the seat member. The bowl member and the seat member are each provided with a tab positioned so that the pair of tabs are in juxtaposition when the bedpan is assembled. Disassembly of the bedpan is readily accomplished by applying oppositely directed forces to these tabs, for example by applying pressure with the thumb and index finger. A graduated scale on the interior wall of the bowl member permits quick and simple measurement of discharge into the bowl member. The design of the bowl member is such that a stack of bowls can be nested together without friction interlock between adjacent bowls; similarly, the design of the seat member is such that a stack of seat members can be nested together without friction interlock between adjacent seat members.

5305415 - Electric steam generator having molded plastic lid and base secured together by a snap-fit connection arrangement - Owned by Earlex Limited (Godalming,GB2)

A portable electric wallpaper steamer has a generator (G) including a base (1) and lid (2), both injection molded of plastic material. An elastomeric sealing ring (29) is seated in a recess in a circumferential interengagement zone between the lid and base and is held compressed by the interengagement of engagement members (24) on the lid with cooperating engagement members (39) on the base. The lid-engagement members (24) and base-engagement members (39) comprise integrally molded parts of the lid and base and one or both are resiliently deformable so that they can be brought into snap-fit engagement with each other by downward movement of the lid relative to the base to form a steam pressure tight seal. An electric heating element (6) is mounted in the base for heating water therein to generate steam. The lid includes a handle (9), filling port (10), safety valve (13) and a steam outlet port (21) connected to a wall paper steaming plate (W) by a pipe.
