4164423 - Black pigmented UV hardening printing ink - Owned by Deutsche Gold- und Silber-Scheideanstalt vormals Roessler (Frankfurt,DE)

There are prepared black pigment containing UV-drying printing inks in which there is employed for the black pigmentation a carbon black having the following physical and chemical properties: The carbon black is produced by post oxidation of a coarse particled furnace black having the properties. ______________________________________ BET surface area m.sup.2 /g 20-50 Particle diameter nm 30-80 DBP adsorption ml/100g 30-100 ______________________________________

6123759 - Carbon black, process for producing the same, and aqueous dispersion and water-base ink both containing the same - Owned by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A method for producing oxidation-treated carbon black, which comprises oxidizing carbon black by ozone in the presence of water until the total amount of acid groups of the carbon black becomes at least 3 .mu.equ/m.sup.2.

6471763 - Oxidatively aftertreated carbon black - Owned by Degussa-Huls AG (Hanau,DE)

An oxidatively aftertreated carbon black has a content of volatile constituents of more than 10 wt. %, based on its total weight, and the ratio of its CTAB surface area to the iodine adsorption number is greater than 2 m.sup.2 /mg. The carbon black may be a channel black oxidatively aftertreated with ozone. The carbon black according to the invention is used preferably as pigment carbon black for the production of water-based paints, printing inks and as inks for mechanical and manual recording and drawing instruments. The combination of properties imparts to the carbon black an excellent dispersibility in water-based binder systems. The paints, printing inks and printer inks produced from this carbon black have an outstanding stability in storage.

6503311 - Aqueous carbon black dispersions - Owned by Degussa AG (Dusseldorf,DE)

Aqueous carbon black dispersions, wherein the carbon black dispersions contain no wetting agent and contain at least one ozone-oxidized carbon black. The dispersions are produced by dispersing ozone-oxidized carbon black and other constituents in water. The dispersions may be used for the production of inks, printing inks and water-based lacquer systems.

5395435 - Fast drying duplicating ink - Owned by AB Dick Company (Chicago, IL)

An water-in-oil emulsion duplicating ink comprising a water phase comprising an aqueous dispersion of oxidized carbon black and an oil phase comprising a saturated oil and an unsaturated oil. The ink compositions of the present invention dry quickly, and exhibit minimal dispersion in the paper upon which the ink is applied. The ink compositions of the present invention remain liquid for extended periods of time upon exposure to the atmosphere.
