This application relates to 2-(5 carboxypentyl)-4, 6-dimethoxybenzoic acid, to intermediates useful in its preparation, and to methods for its preparation.
The present invention concerns unsaturated ethers or thioethers of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R.sub.1 is an aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are H or alkyl, Y is cyano, amido, a ketone or an acid ester, ##EQU2## is an ether, thioether or a saturated or unsaturated c--c bond and n is an integer, which exhibit insecticidal properties.
