A joint connecting end-to-end pipe sections wherein there are two opposed flanges respectively having frustoconical faces whereby a frustoconical annular chamber is defined in which is located a rhomboidal sectioned gasket of which the parallel sides are both frustoconical and the cone angles of the gasket parallel sides and the flanges are inclined in the same direction with the flange face angle being largest so that the gasket when the joint is made takes up an "S"-shaped configuration with the crests of the "S" bearing respectively upon said opposed frustoconical faces of the flanges.
Hermetic connection device comprising a double curve ductile joint (3) and two supports (1,2), the joint (3) being connected between the two supports (1,2) stressed towards each other along axis (8) and defining on one section of their thickness only two parallel surfaces (4,5) at an angle to axis (8), characterized in that in the normally clamped state the geometric characteristics of the supports (1,2) and of the joint (3) are such that contact between the joint (3) and the two supports (1,2) is made on the one hand through each inclined surface (4,5) respectively along a line of contact (9,10) and on the other hand by each extreme end of joint (3) supported against another surface (6,7) of the male support (1) or female support (2) respectively.
A sealed connection for two cylindrical members includes semi-cylindrical connector sections sized to fit about the members, to bridge the joint between the members, and to be retained in position. An over-center flexing seal is also provided between two such members, as for example pipe members.
A body sleeve which houses a stator and a rotary vane extending radially from a drive shaft is sealed at its ends to a pair of head assemblies by flexible, metal end plates which retain tapered, roller thrust bearings within the head assemblies.
The metal static gasket forms an annular body about an axis ZZ'. The profile of the gasket in axial half-section presents an elongated S-shape and comprises a lateral first portion defining the inner peripheral surface of the gasket, a lateral second portion defining the outer peripheral surface of the gasket, said lateral first and second portions being offset from each other along the direction of the axis of the gasket. The gasket also presents a curved third portion of undulating shape having a substantially rectilinear first contact region at one of its ends, and a curved fourth portion of undulating shape having a substantially rectilinear second contact region at one of its end extending perpendicularly to the axis of the gasket in such a manner that the gasket provides sealing between two flanges solely by means of the axial pressure exerted by the flanges.
A sealed connection for two cylindrical members defining an axis, and in combination with the members comprising at least two semi-cylindrical connector sections sized to fit about the members, the sections forming multiple projections that extend radially inwardly and generally annularly about the axis, the projections spaced apart in an axial direction on each of the sections in meshing interengagement with corresponding projections on the members that project radially outwardly, with the sections bridging the joint between the members, whereby the members are held against relative axial separation, the projections in the sections having annular extents about the axis; generally annular retaining ring structure extending annularly about the sections and having wedging engagement therewith to block outward movement of the sections that would tend to relieve such meshing interengagement; there being sealing structure at the joint between the members and compressed by the members when the sections are fully assembled thereto; the sections having intermediate portions bridging the joint between the members, certain of the projections located on one axial side of the intermediate portions, and others of the projections located on the opposite axial side of the intermediate portions; the sections and one member providing pivot structure allowing the sections to pivot relative to the member, for disengaging the meshing interengagement when the retaining structure is axially displaced, whereby the member may be relatively separate.
