A hot and cold water supply valve for a washing machine adapted by operation of a single control lever to (a) prevent flow of both hot and cold water to the machine, (b) pass only cold water, or (c) pass both hot and cold water.
A washing machine water supply and drain fixture for effecting the ready installation of hot and cold water supply lines and the drain connections of a washing machine. The fixture comprises a valve body mounted in a housing. The valve includes two inlets for connection to hot and cold water supplies and two outlets for connection to washing machine water supply hoses, flow control means for controlling fluid flow between the inlets and outlets, and a horizntally movable operating handle attached to the flow control means. The housing is adapted to accommodate a drain outlet in its bottom wall. The fixture also includes a cover plate secured to the housing having a horizontal slot adapted to permit operation of the horizontally movable handle, and an aperture adapted to accommodate the ends of the water supply hoses and drain hose of a washing machine.
An in-the-wall base unit is provided for connection of building water supply and drain lines to it. A surface-mounted adaptor unit is fastened to the front of the base unit, extends outside the wall for connection of the supply and drain lines in the one instance to a washing machine, and in the other example, to a lavatory. A cover plate neatly frames the adaptor unit and covers the relatively small opening in the wall board through which it extends. A single lever valve assembly controls both the hot and cold water. Build-in drain and vent provisions are made.
The steering wheel controlled valve operator in a fluid power steering system, is mechanically held in a neutral position by centering springs associated with fluid pressure controlled reaction pistons yieldably resisting movement of the control valve by the valve operator. Check valves opened in response to suction pressure, conduct fluid in by-pass relation to the control valve between a servo motor chamber and a return fluid line, the control valve connecting both servo motor chambers to the return line in the neutral position.
