Abstract
The stance gauge has a first strip to be straddled by the golfer's feet substantially normal to the desired line of flight of a golf ball. A replaceable rod is mounted on the front end of the strip for indicating the proper teeing position of the golf ball prior to swinging. A cross-strip is adjustable intermediate its ends on the first strip intermediate the ends of the first strip. A left foot positioning pad is pivotally adjustably mounted on the cross-strip to be engaged by the toe of the shoe of the golfer's left foot. A right foot positioning pad is pivotally and axially adjustably mounted on the cross-strip and is adapted to be engaged by the toe of the shoe of the golfer's right foot. A vertical rod is adjustably secured to the rear end of the first strip adapted to be positioned in rear of the golfer's left knee to indicate undue sway of the golfer's body during swinging. First indicia on the cross-strip cooperates with an edge of the left foot pad for indicating its proper angle adjustment; other indicia on the cross-strip cooperates with an edge of the right foot pad for indicating the spacing between the golfer's feet in relation to the golf ball during back swing. Further indicia on the cross-strip cooperates with an edge of the first strip for indicating lateral positioning of the cross-strip on the first strip. Still further indicia on the cross-strip cooperates with an edge of the first strip for indicating proper angular positioning of the said strip to allow for "hooking" and "slicing" the golf ball. And pins are provided for securing the strips down upon the ground surface after stance adjustments have been made.

Equipment for practicing and recognizing golf stances and ball positioning includes two relatively adjustable members adapted to be placed on a floor or any outdoor surface, the members having extended therefrom a pair of foot guides for placement of the feet in a closed golf stance positioning or a square golf stance position or in an open golf stance position, the members being adjustable to properly locate the feet in accordance with the number of the club being used for practice or play. Also, the equipment may be employed to mark ball position relative to the foot off which the ball is played, and the ball position so marked may be used as a guide to properly locate the feet in relation to an actual ball lie.

4718674 - Golf stance and swing practice device

The disclosure describes an improved golf training aid for practicing a variety of golf shots. The training aid is portable and fits in a golf bag. The disclosed practice device includes frame members which are arranged in a rectangular or triangular form, foot markers slidably attached to the frame, a ball placement marker, and a graduated bar which extends upwardly at an adjustable angle for measuring the golfer's backswing.

4113258 - Golfer's club swing and stance training device

A didactic device for golf playing exercises, comprising a plate of cardboard or the like with recesses defined by upstanding rims for insertion of the feet of the player to keep him in the best stance and parallel lines indicating the correct position of the golf club for carrying out the swing. When used indoors, the device may be anchored to the indoor carpeting by using a special fastening strip. The fastening strip includes a snap fastener button at one end, which will fit into a golf tee receiving hole provided in the device, and loop-type fiber fasteners (such as "Velcro") at the other end, which fasteners interlock with the carpet pile.

5401029 - Golfing aid for verifying a proper golfing stance

A golfing aid for verifying a proper golfing stance comprising a front component positionable on the ground adjacent to golf ball to be hit in contact with the toes of the golfer's shoes and positioned between the feet of the player and the ball, the front component being in a linear configuration and formed of two elongated parts axially aligned and adjustable with respect to each other for varying the length thereof, the parts including a left part with a longitudinal slot along the majority of its length and an aperture at its left end and an imperforate section at its right end with a projection therebetween, the parts including a right part with a longitudinal slot adapted to receive the projection and an aperture at its right end; a left component having an aperture at its front end and at its rear end and with an upper and lower surface; a right component having an aperture at its forward end for alignment and coupling with the aperture at the right end of the first component and with an aperture at its rearward end for coupling with the aperture at the rear end of the left component, one surface of the rearward end of the right component being recessed for coupling with a mating recess in a mating surface of the rear end left component; three coupling bolts with washers and wing nuts positionable through the aligned apertures at the ends of the components for securing them in a desired position; an adjustment bolt, wing nut and washer positionable through the slot of the first part and an aligned aperture of the second part for adjusting the length of the two parts of the first component.
