Abstract
A ski-training device is formed with a base, a pair of ski-like boards pivotally mounted by their front ends on a vertical axis in the front zone of the base and at least one flexible, resilient traction element acting upon the middle zone of the boards over at least two guide rollers rotatably mounted in vertical axes in the rear zone of the base. In use of the device to obtain a realistic feel of movement and forces experienced in technique of skiing, the ski-like boards rotate parallel to one another out of a basic position and are biased for return thereto by spring action.

3807727 - PROGRAMMED SKIING SIMULATOR, TRAINER AND EXERCISER

A programmed skiing simulater, trainer and exerciser. The machine comprises an inclined board over which two simulated skiis move. Each of the skiis is both pivotable and slidable at one end on slide-ball-pivot points. The other end of each ski also rides on a similar ball-pivot point, mounted on a wheel carriage, enabling the ski end to swing in a wide curve from one side to the other, in a programmed arc. The skiis are provided with tubular slotted tracks underneath, thus permitting them to tilt from side to side and slide on the pivot points while turning. By interchanging the wheel carriages with a differently designed "avalement" wheel carriage different movements may be performed.

4795146 - Training device for cross-country skiers and ice skaters

An apparatus for training cross-country skiers and ice skaters has a frame having a center support and two bars, the rear ends of which are connected to said frame in such a manner as to be pivotable about vertical axes. The center support and the bars have respective standing surfaces with threaded bores of the attachment of cross-country ski bindings. The bars are held together by at least one spring and support rollers on their forward ends which rotate about horizontal axes. The hip muscles, thigh extensors and gluteal muscles can be exercised with this apparatus.

4907796 - Ski simulator

An alpine ski simulator for reproducing the basic corporal movements involved in downhill skiing, comprising a frame which may be set at different angles relative to the horizontal plane, and a handrail for equilibrium purposes. A rotatable platform, horizontally mounted on the frame through a central shaft has roller means set between the platform and the frame to ease the rotation. A fixed band encircling the platform, guided between two pairs of posts, and connected to the frame, is provided for braking purposes. Adjustable means are attached between the band and the frame to increase or reduce the tension of the band against the platform and thus, vary the rotational speed of the platform.

5279532 - Exercise device for simulating skiing exercise

An exercise device includes a post extended upward from a base, a track laterally supported on the base, a pair of foot pedals slidably disposed on the track, four pulleys disposed on the base, and an elastic band engaged over the pulleys and having two ends coupled to the foot pedals respectively. The foot pedals are movable sidewise against the elastic band in order to simulate skiing exercise.

4342453 - Ski training apparatus

Ski training apparatus is provided which includes a base, and a pair of spaced and parallel horizontal bars supported on the base and displaced upwardly from the plane thereof in uniplanar relationship, and a third horizontal bar extending perpendicular to and traversing the pair of bars supported on the base and displaced up from the pair of bars. A first bushing is slidably supported on the third bar, and a pair of bushings are slidably supported on the pair of bars. An intermediate block is mounted between the pair of bushings, and it is pivotally coupled to the bushings for rotation about an axis perpendicular to the axes of the pair of bars. A pair of ski-like boards are pivotally mounted at their front ends on the first bushing in spaced uniplanar relationship. A compression spring is mounted on the pivotal block, and it extends upwardly from the plane of the pair of bars, and a horizontal transverse strip member is mounted on the upper end of the spring, and it extends parallel to the second bar. Finally, the ski-like boards are pivotally mounted at their rear ends to the transverse strip member. Ski harness is mounted on the ski-like boards in position such that the heels of the skier are directly over the transverse strip member.
