A discrimination card for card reader has plural and different information codes incorporated therein. The information codes can be variably and desirably set up in one card. The discrimination card cooperates with a single card reader which is capable of reading each information code and has a single card insertion slot.
The invention relates to a method of control of legitimacy safe against forgery using at least two documents provided with bits of information, one of said documents being a document of identification, such as a check card or the like, the other one being a document releasing a function, such as a check or the like, said documents being commonly presented for releasing the function of the function document whereby said bits of information on each document are combined and verified for legitimacy before releasing the function.
Magnetic identification apparatus is disclosed in which a magnetically coded instrument such as a key or card is inserted into a reader which reads the recorded code. The code is recorded by disposition of discrete magnets in the instrument as the instrument is inserted into the reader, the movement of the discrete magnets relative to sensor elements in the reader causes the sensor elements to be energized. The energization of certain sensor elements is an indication of the recorded code.
