Abstract
A structural module which lends itself to the construction of playground edifices for climbing and crawling. The module is in the form of a tetrahedron whose four corners are truncated to define four triangular minor faces that are disposed in parallel relation to four major hexagonal faces, the module having a spherical central cavity. The radius of the sphere is greater than the distance between the geometrical center of the module and any major face thereof, circular ports in the major faces of the module being formed by the intersection of the spherical cavity and the major faces. A group of such modules may be interfitted in various ways, side by side as well as one above the other, to create an edifice in which one major face of each module abuts a major face of an adjacent module and in which the ports of the abutting faces are in registration, thereby interconnecting the cavities of the modules to produce a labyrinth.

A portable structure in the form of a regular tetrahedron having an opening in each of at least three sides thereof and comprising four side panels.

4696260 - Animal shelter

A shelter to protect an animal from extremes in climatic conditions. It includes a base member adapted to support the shelter in a fixed position relative to the ground together with a substantially enclosed structure mounted on the base member. The structure has a generally horizontal floor for supporting the animal. The floor divides the structure into an upper compartment adapted to house the animal within the structure and a lower compartment comprising a dead air space, all of which is disposed substantially entirely above the ground. The structure also has an opening providing means of ingress and egress for the animal relative to the upper compartment. It is further designed to provide a sheltered area for protecting the animal outside of the structure on the ground thereunder. Additionally, the shelter is constructed to provide light, insulation, solar heating, and protection from wind, rain, snow and other adverse weather conditions.

3949985 - Playing implement

A hollow body having means for connecting several bodies together, the hollow body consisting of two identical shell halves of synthetic material. The halves are provided with ribs and grooves and openings through which pass fixation elements. The hollow body further includes a boring which receives the connection elements, in order to connect several hollow bodies in a detachable manner. At least the top and bottom surfaces are concave, textured and have a plurality of holes whereby the playing surface is made less slippery when wet.

4369965 - Playground climber and slide - Owned by Miracle Recreation Equipment Company (Grinnell, IA)

An A-shaped playground climber is formed from a pair of spaced apart end pieces which include outer peripheral rims having eight flat surfaces. Extension legs extend from the vertical surfaces to the ground and steps bridge adjacent legs and diagonal surfaces of the end pieces to provide steps along each of the legs of the A-shape structure. A tube is received in axial openings in each of the end pieces and a slide extends from the top of one of the end pieces to the ground. A second embodiment is also A-shaped but comprises four pairs of end pieces, three pairs in abutting relationship on the ground with a fourth pair on top of the center pair on the ground. Pairs of extension legs bridge adjacent end pieces to provide continuous legs of the A-shaped structure and steps are provided therealong. A slide on one side of the A-shaped structure extends from the ground to the juncture of the abutting horizontal surfaces of the top and bottom center end pieces.

4347807 - Cat condominium and method of making same
