A stapler has a magazine for additional sticks of staples and a manually operable slider for allowing a stick of staples to be transferred from the magazine to the staple carrying arm. The slider has a lateral projection which projects normal to, and below, the stapler cover and enables the slider to be operated without moving the cover to the position in which the magazine is exposed fully. The magazine is mounted pivotally on the arm by means of reentrant bent portions enabling the magazine to be disengaged from the arm after pivotal movement from its operational position. An electromagnetic device for moving the slider and the staple pusher device together automatically may be provided.
An electric stapler comprising: a staple bending table; a main arm having a staple push-out blade at the forward edge thereof and supported turnably at the rear edge thereof; a sub-arm turnably supported by said main arm at a position other than the support point for rotation of said main arm; and a drive mechanism connected turnably to said sub-arm at a position more forward with respect to the support point of said sub-arm and imparting a rotary force in one direction to said sub-arm.
A hand-operated stapler of the type comprising a base having an anvil die adjacent its front end, an open-top staple magazine pivotally coupled at its rear end to the base, and a lever also pivotally coupled to the base to depress the staple magazine onto the anvil die of the base whereby the foremost one of the staples within the magazine is dispensed therefrom to penetrate sheets of paper or the like and is further clinched by the anvil die to hold the sheets together. The stapler characterized in that the staples within the staple magazine are urged forwardly by a feed element slidably mounted therein and a helical tension spring extending between the front end of the feed element and the front end of the lever, in such a manner that the spring is substantially folded over the rear end of the feed element.
A stapler includes a press handle, a loading arm for filling a staple stick having a side window thereon, an anvil base and a magazine prefilled with several sticks of staples engaged with the side window of the arm and having an angled spring plate normally braking a staple stick, whereby upon the retraction of a pusher in the arm, the angled spring plate in the magazine will be straightened to release a standby staple stick tensioned by a leaf spring in the magazine to be filled into the loading arm for convenient refilling of staples without uncovering the loading arm.
A strip of staples is supported on a base portion and confined by an enclosure such as a bubble pack. The base portion has a non-setting adhesive on its lower surface for temporary attachment to a supporting surface, such as a stapler surface. A removable protective layer is provided on the adhesive surface to cover the latter until attachment is to be made to a supporting surface. The enclosure includes a pull tab at one end to pull it away from the base portion for removal of the strip of staples.
