To turn large pieces of goods 90.degree. a mechanism is provided, which includes a platform hingedly connected to a base structure in such a manner that the upper face of the platform will be flush with the level of a spot upon which large pieces of goods to be turned 90.degree. are brought. This spot may be a weighing machine or a part of a conveyor. The platform is provided with a telescopic pillar mounted perpendicurlarly thereto, which at its end remote from the platform is provided with an arm extending over the platform. Power operated means are provided, to swing the platform 90.degree. in relation to the base structure, and to adjust the length of the telescopic pillar, respectively, to make the arm thereof fore a piece of goods placed on abovementioned spot towards the platform, when the latter has been brought to vertical position. Thereupon the platform may be swung back to horizontal position, while the pillar and the arm maintain the piece of goods locked upon the platform.
An oil tube bundle positioning device (26) for supporting and restraining oil cooler tube bundles (10) so that they can be safely oriented from one position to another, e.g., from a vertical position to a horizontal position, for cleaning and servicing. The positioning device (26) includes a substantially rigid beam element (28), a first plate (30) fixed to the beam element (28) and a second plate (32) movably supported by the beam element (28) and spaced from the first plate (30). The positioning device is designed to receive an oil tube bundle (10) in the spacing between the first and second plates (30, 32). A plurality of tapered dowels (42) extend from each of the first and second plates (30, 32). Each dowel (42) is positioned to engage an end of a tube (14) of the tube bundle (10) upon the tube bundle (10) being received between the first and second plates (30, 32). At least one restraining strap (40), adapted to encircle the periphery of a tube bundle (10) received between the first and second plates (30, 32) is fixed to the beam element (28) at a position intermediate the first and second plates (30, 32).
A method, apparatus and system for elevating a cargo container chassis for storage in a substantially vertical position. The chassis is positioned on a lifting platform having a hinged axis around which the platform may tilt upwardly. The platform is then tilted upwardly to lift the chassis to an elevated position in which the longitudinal axis of the chassis approaches or assumes a vertical or upright position. The chassis may then be transferred to a transport vehicle. The transport vehicle does not actively tilt the chassis upward, but instead accepts the already tilted chassis and transfers it to a storage area for vertical storage. This method thereby avoids the necessity of a transport vehicle firmly clamping the chassis and actively tilting it into the storage position, which may damage the chassis. Also, the transport vehicle need not be fitted with expensive heavy tilting devices, and a very large and heavy chassis may more easily be moved to the vertical storage position.
A device for both lifting and dumping of core material from long hollow core concrete panels. The device utilizes a pair of retractable clamp members to engage the longitudinal groove in the side of the panel.
A transport cart for material carriers such as bobbins or drums having threads or other elongated material wound thereon, has a cart frame with wheels and a tilting frame journalled in said cart frame. The tilting frame carries two parallel skids for supporting a material carrier on its rollers. The tilting frame is tiltable between a first position in which the skids extend horizontally for loading a material carrier onto the cart, and a second position in which the skids extend vertically for unloading a material carrier, or vice versa.
A transportation and installation assist device (16) for at least one precast concrete tilt panel. The panel(s) (18) are generally rectangular and have a first shorter end (44) with at least one lifting anchor therein, a second opposed shorter end (48) and a longitudinal axis (50) therebetween. The device (16) includes at least one frame (20) adapted to releasably engage an associated one of the panel(s) (18) substantially adjacent the second end (48) and support the panel (18) in a loading/transport orientation with the face of the associated panel (18) substantially vertical and the axis(es) (50) substantially horizontal. The frame (20) is also adapted for pivotal mounting to a table bed (14) of a truck (10) or trailer (12). The frame (20) and associated panel (18) pivot together when the first panel end (44) is lifted above the second panel end (48) until the associated panel (18) is in a releasing orientation with the face of the panel (18) substantially vertical and the axis (50) substantially vertical. Further lifting of the first panel end (44) releases the panel (18) from the frame (20).
