This invention relates to 3,3'-methylene-bis-(4-hydroxy-5-azacoumarin), its preparation and its use in the pharmaceutical field. Said compound may be prepared by treating 4-hydroxy-5-azacoumarin by means of formaldehyde or a functional derivative thereof in the presence of a polar solvent. In view of its amebicidal properties, the compound of this invention may be used as amebicidal agent.
