A film cartridge comprising a housing with a spool rotatably mounted therein and film wound upon the spool. The end of the film extends through a slot in the housing to the exterior and a tab or tabs are struck upwardly or downwardly from the film. When the film is rewound on the cartridge, the tab or tabs engage the housing to prevent the end of the film from being wound upon the spool.
A photographic roll film cartridge in which a roll film is stored in an initial packaged condition before being used for photographing. In the initial packaged condition, the leading edge portion of the roll film protrudes out of the cartridge by a length of 10 mm to 25 mm.
A film reel having a chordally arranged slot for connecting the film reel with the end of a strip of film. The slot contains a barb which cooperates with an aperture formed at the end of the film strip. Once the film strip end is placed within the slot, and the barb engages the film strip aperture, accidental separation of the film end from the slot is obviated.
The disclosure relates to an improved means for assuring the proper alignment of the leader on the end of a film strip for a roll of film disposed in a cartridge, whereby, when the cartridge is placed in a viewing or reproducing machine, the end of the strip will be properly picked up and threaded into the machine, wherein the strip has a friction portion that engages with the exit or entrance throat of the cartridge and an indicator on the strip to show when the film is pulled out to the proper position for threading into a machine.
A film cassette for multi-exposure film strips has a body part with an inner compartment for a film strip and at least one opening for passage of the film strip therethrough between an initial position before exposure and a final position after exposure, and elements for preventing unintentional withdrawal of the film strip from the body part in at least one of these positions, the preventing elements arranged between the body part and the film strip. The preventing elements can be arranged so that they prevent unintentional withdrawal of the film strip in both positions. The preventing elements include a recess provided in one of the film strip and the body part, and a projection provided in the other of the film strip and the body part and engageable in the recess.
A magazine for belt-shaped photosensitive material in which the photosensitive material is in the form of a roll and is rotatably supported by a casing of the magazine. The photosensitive material is pulled through a slot formed in the casing and a small tab piece is attached to at least one of two lateral edges of the photosensitive material so that the small piece protrudes in the widthwise direction of the photosensitive material. The sum of the length of the protruding small piece and the width of the photosensitive material is larger than the length of the slot. A leading end protector is detachably mounted to the casing. The protector extends along the widthwise direction along the front end portion of the photosensitive material and prevents the front end portion from being bent or deformed.
