The invention relates to tiltable head rests for attachment to the back rest of an automobile and includes a vertically adjustable head rest supported on a housing which includes a telescopic brace adapted to be moved relative thereto and associated at the opposite free end with locking members permitting the tilting operation.
A patient head holder is disclosed for use with a CT scanner and is suitable both for adult patients and for young children. The holder includes a support which is pivotable about a horizontal axis disposed below the region in which the neck of an adult patient would lie, and the attitude of the support can be adjusted incrementally over a wide range by means of two clutch assemblies.
An adjustable headrest device includes a fixed base fixed to a backrest of a chair, a movable seat mounted to the fixed base and slidable along a vertical direction of the fixed base, a headrest attaching device mounted to the movable seat and slidable along a front/rear direction of the movable seat, and a headrest fixed to the headrest attaching device to move therewith. The movable seat is retainable in a desired level relative to the fixed base, and the headrest is retainable in a desired front/rear position relative to the movable base.
An adjustable headrest particularly adapted for a dental, medical or the like treatment chair wherein it is necessary to have a patient's head in various positions. A supporting arm preferably of the four-bar linkage type having a first end for being pivotally mounted on any suitable support for attachment to a treatment chair and a second end being pivotally mounted on a headrest for movement of the headrest which approximates the normal motion of the patient's head. Locking mechanism is attached to the headrest and supporting arm to lock the headrest in any desired position with the use of one hand of the operator.
A back support control mechanism for a chair or the like is provided for a back support movable toward and away form a seat. Adjustable positioning of the back support with respect to the seat in an infinite number of positions in a range of movement of the back support is provided through use of a channel member fixed with respect to the seat and a pressure pad positioned within the channel member and fixed with respect to the back support. The pressure pad slides within the channel member, and a lever is coupled to the pressure pad through a spring plate. The lever is movable with the pressure pad and with respect thereto, and has a cam surface thereon which, in one position of the lever with respect to the pressure pad, bears against the pressure pad through the spring plate, causing the pressure pad to bear against the channel member to fix the pressure pad in position with respect to the channel member and to prevent further movement of the pressure pad, thereby to fix the position of the back support with respect to the seat. A stop pin is carried by the channel member which extends into a slot in the pressure pad. A terminal end of the slot limits the range of movement of the back support with respect to the seat.
There is disclosed an improved head support for vehicle seats with a padded support member which forms a hollow space, a holder including at least one bar-shaped support which extends from below into the inside of the padded support member, a connecting body which connects the padded support member with the holder so that the padded support member can be swiveled around a transverse axis and can be vertically adjusted along the longitudinal axis of, and relative to the holder, as well as a notched device which holds the padded support member at the selected height by means of a friction or force fit.
