Abstract
Automobile conveyor apparatus having a continuous chain running beneath a slotted car supporting platform, the chain having pushing assemblies mounted at spaced intervals thereon normally passing beneath the platform and selectively movable on passage of a front wheel and rear wheel of the automobile over an advance end of the platform to a tire engaging position supported on top of the platform. A ramp, spring urged to, and releasibly locked in, a horizontal supporting position at an opening in the platform spaced from the advance end thereof a distance a little greater than a car length is released by operation of a lever disposed in the path of an automobile approaching the opening to permit the ramp to swing to a sloping non-supporting position so that a pushing assembly pushing the front wheel of the automobile can descend through the opening to an inoperative position. The lever is positioned so that it clears the automobile before a rear wheel of the automobile reaches the opening so as to lock the ramps in a horizontal supporting position so that a pushing assembly pushing the rear wheel passes over the opening and pushes the automobile the length of the platform.

4864936 - Auto conveyor with improved roller assembly - Owned by Peco Corporation (Troy, MI)

An auto conveyor is disclosed of type in which chain driven pusher rollers engage a vehicle tire running along a track, while guide rollers support the pusher rollers above the guide track. A low profile, guide-pusher roller assembly is provided configured to avoid contact of the tire with the guide roller in which the pusher rollers are constituted by large diameter sleeves are rotated on a stationary sleeve, and smaller diameter guide rollers are mounted on either end of an axle shaft passing within the diameter of the sleeve. The guide roller perimeters protrude below the perimeter of the pusher rollers to support each pusher roller above the guide track.

4440090 - Storage arrangement for truck conveyor trolleys - Owned by Tsubakimoto Chain Company (Osaka,JP)

Storage arrangement for truck conveyor trolleys is provided wherein trolley units are designed to run within a conveyance path defined by a trolley rail. The trolley units are engageable with a truck for receiving articles to be carried and can be attached and detached from the truck by positioning the trolley units on segmented rail portions integrally formed as part of the trolley running rail. By raising or lowering the scissioned rail segments with the trolley units positioned thereon, the trolley units will automatically engage with and disengage from the truck. Once disconnected from the truck, the trolley units can be stored in large numbers in a storage place, either on the rail segments or on separate storage rails.

4374496 - Vehicle conveyor

A conveyor for transporting a vehicle along a track through a carwash is adapted to selectively lift a roller mechanism through a first opening at the forward end of the tire track for engaging the front tire of a vehicle to convey the vehicle along the track until the rear tire moves beyond the first opening whereupon the roller mechanism engaging the front tire drops through another opening at an intermediate location along the track and a second roller mechanism is lifted through the first opening behind the rear tire so as to engage the rear tire and then convey the vehicle to the rearward end of the tire track. An improved roller mechanism is provided with three pairs of rollers consisting of a first pair adapted to travel above the tire track, a second pair adapted to travel on the top surface of the tire track, and a third adapted to travel below the tire track, the first roller pair being disposed at a predetermined height above the tire track for more efficiently transferring force to the tire of the vehicle while conveying the vehicle along the track.

6161682 - Car washing machine and system

A car washing apparatus having a continuous conveyor that moves along a conveyor path and a guide rail with an upper surface on which wheels of the vehicle roll thereby moving the vehicle from the proximal end to the distal end upon conveyor movement. The guide rail has a concave recess surface formed in the rail facing upwardly to receive and seat a vehicle wheel. A roller member, mounted to the continuous conveyor engages and drives the wheel until the wheel is driven into the recess surface. The first roller disengages the wheel while the conveyor continues to move. Subsequently, a roller member re-engages the wheel and pushes the wheel from the recess surface.

5140910 - Roller equipped dolly for a car wash

A dolly for pushing a vehicle through a car wash and including an inclined arm having a leading end located below a track of the car wash and attached to a continuous conveyor chain. A track engaging pair of rollers is carried below the track by the leading end of the arm while a trailing pair of rollers is supported by the track. An elevated pair of rollers engage an auto wheel for pushing of the auto while simultaneously contacting the track supported trailing pair of rollers. Loads imparted to the tire engaging rollers are accordingly transferred to the track with a reduction in loads imparted to roller axles. A floating mounting arrangement for the tire engaging rollers maintains roller engagement regardless of roller wear.
