The bottom and sides are scored by cooperating fold lines whereby the filter may be collapsed to a flat shape. The bottom has one or more perforations and is covered by a sheet of filter paper on the inside.
A brewing apparatus including a cup and a pair of rings sized to telescope with respect to one another and sized to telescope as a combination over the lower end of the cup; each of the rings has a shoulder to mate with one another when in telescoping relation with one another, the shoulders of each being adjacent one end for captivating a filter paper between the rings in spanning relation thereof which filter paper is adapted to be formed and shaped about the exterior of the cup to generally match the configuration and size of the cup, so that, after the rings and the form and shaped paper captivated by them are removed from the exterior of the cup, and inserted into the cup with the filter paper depending within the cup, there is a brewing chamber formed, each of the rings may include a radially outwardly extending portion to engage the mouth of the cup to limit penetration of the formed filter within the cup during the brewing operation; and the exterior of the cup is provided with an abutment surface to position the rings while in telescopic relation with one another and in telescopic relation with the exterior of the cup.
An apparatus for producing liquid coffee. A container has a partition dividing the container into a first compartment and a second compartment. Coffee is placed in the first compartment whereas cold water is inserted into the second compartment and allowed to drain through the partition into the second compartment. The bottom of the container is sealed by a filter having a removable seal mounted thereon by adhesives. Removal of the seal allows the liquid coffee to drain through the filter. In one embodiment, the seal is positioned inside the container and is removed from the filter by means of a pull string. In another embodiment, the seal is positioned externally of the container. In yet another embodiment, the filter is externally sealed by a cone-shaped projection which extends downwardly from the container and which may be removed from the container. A holder receives the container and spaces the container upwardly from the bottom wall of the holder forming a cavity to receive the filtered liquid coffee. The liquid coffee is then refrigerated.
A filter apparatus for producing aromatic extracts of coffee or tea includes a filter vessel having an interior with a pyramid-like shape and a filter paper insert which, in use, is adapted in shape to the interior of the filter vessel. In order to improve the utilization of the aroma carrier, the corners of the filter vessel in the usable interior are beveled or otherwise altered. The filter paper insert is correspondingly provided with creases in its corner regions so as to permit a substantially form-fitting support of the filter paper insert at the beveled corners of the filter vessel.
Coffee brewing apparatus includes a brew holder having an interior cup portion extending downwardly from a rim, and a plastic, liquid impervious liner supportable by the rim and extending within the cup portion, the liner having an upper overlay portion adapted to cover the rim and extend exteriorly of the holder. A brew basket has a lip engageable with the holder rim and liner, is isolated from the holder by the liner, and is held in engagement with the holder rim and liner by an arm movably carried by the holder, the arm having a distributor portion adapted to engage the top of the brew basket.
A tubular carton is formed from a blank of paperboard and has a side wall interconnected to a bottom wall by intermediate panels. The intermediate panels are joined to the bottom wall along convex/concave score lines.
