Abstract
A seat in particular a front seat for motor vehicles provided with a hinged tiltable back in which as the back tilts there is a corresponding sliding displacement of the seat in the same direction, and likewise on restoring the back into the normal position there is a corresponding sliding displacement of the seat in the direction opposite the preceding, thereby to provide better access for any back seats in two-doored motor vehicles.

3853373 - EASY-ENTER VEHICLE SEAT - Owned by General Motors Corporation (Detroit, MI)

A vehicle seat including a seat cushion and a seat back is conventionally mounted on the vehicle floor by a track assembly which permits fore and aft adjustment of the seat. The seat back includes inboard and outboard support arms which are respectively mounted to the frame of the seat cushion by pivots to permit forward tilting movement of a seat back to an easy-enter position. A first link is pivotally mounted on one of the pivots of the seat back and has its other end pivoted to a second link which is in turn pivoted to a stationary member. A latch acting between the seat back and the first link can be unlatched to permit fore and aft adjusting movement of the vehicle seat and consequent rotation of the first link about the pivot while the seat back remains in its normal position. When the seat back is tilted forwardly, the latch causes the first link to be rotated with the seat back causing the entire vehicle seat to be pulled forwardly on the track assembly by virtue of the connection of the other end of the first link to the stationary member by the second link.

4440442 - Seat position control mechanism - Owned by General Motors Corporation (Detroit, MI)

A seat position control mechanism includes an inboard slave track arrangement having a single track assembly and an outboard control track arrangement having a pair of the same track assemblies arranged in vertically stacked relationship. One of the outboard track assemblies provides for horizontal adjustment of the seat and the other provides for movement of the seat to and from an easy enter position. A control cable arrangement interconnects a tilting seat back and a latch mechanism for the other outboard track assembly to release a latch mechanism and permit movement of the seat to the easy enter position.

3940182 - Seat position control mechanism having a position memory element - Owned by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Yokohama,JA)

A vehicle seat assembly having a substantially horizontal seat member and a normally upright backrest pivoted relative to the seat member is locked in one of a plurality of selectable positions lengthwise of a stationary guide fixed to the vehicle floor. A seat position memory element is provided having a first latch which is selectively engageable with the stationary guide and a slide member which is slidably carried on the stationary guide. The slide member has a second latch which normally engages the stationary guide to lock the seat assembly in position and is disengaged therefrom when the backrest is folded forward to permit the seat assembly to move forward. A control shaft is rotatably carried on the slide member and arranged to coact with the first and second latches. Upon rotation of the control shaft, the first and second latches are disengaged from the stationary guide to move the seat to a selected position. Restoring of the control shaft causes the first and second latches to come into engagement with the stationary guide. When the backrest is folded forward to move the seat forward, the first latch remains engaged with the stationary guide while the second latch is disengaged therefrom. Upon return movement of the seat, the second latch comes into engagement with the stationary guide such that the seat assembly returns to the selected position.

3957312 - Vehicle seat having a swingable backrest - Owned by Automobiles Peugeot (Paris,FR)

The vehicle seat has a seat base and a backrest pivotable relative to the seat about an axis transverse to the direction in which the seat is longitudinally adjustable in position. A link pivoted at one end to the seat base front part and at the other end to the floor of the vehicle and a shoe connected to the seat base and adjustable in position on a slideway secured to the floor of the vehicle allow said longitudinal adjustment of the seat. The shoe is connected to the seat base by an intermediate member pivoted to the shoe and connected to the seat base to pivot about said axis. Locking and unlocking means releasably lock the intermediate member relative to the seat base.

7455362 - Adjustable motion wheel chair - Owned by Kids Up, Inc. (Belgrade, MT)

An adjustable motion wheel chair having a mobility base for supporting a back panel and a seat panel. A pair of control plates are mounted to the mobility base and positioned laterally across the mobility base in spaced apart parallel relation. The back panel includes a pair of pivot pins located on opposite lateral edges of the back panel which are pivotally received by a respective control plate. A linkage member hingedly connects the seat panel to the back panel. Each control plate includes a forwardly extending stop for limiting the downward movement of a front edge of the seat panel. A latch member is attached to each control plate and is operable between a first position where the back panel is fixed in angular relation with the seat panel and a second position where the back panel is rotatable with respect to the seat panel.
