Abstract
A horizontally sliding and folding shutter having a plurality of doors made of glass and other rigid materials and connected horizontally by the intermediary of joints, the odd-numbered ones of which doors are supported with upper sliders and lower rollers respectively in slidable relations to the oppositely channel-shaped head jamb and sill, while the even-numbered ones of which doors are supported with upper and lower rollers respectively in slidable relations to the same head jamb and sill, and each door being rotatably fitted on the relevant joint so as to permit each adjacent doors to be folded flat against each other.

6220332 - Door assembly for spanning an entrance of a shower room

A door assembly for spanning an entrance of a shower room includes an elongated rail member formed with a longitudinally extending slide channel, and a foldable sliding door unit which includes a plurality of vertically disposed elongated connectors, a plurality of vertically disposed elongated slats, and a plurality of slidable coupling units. Each of the connectors is formed with longitudinally extending left and right engaging grooves. Each of the slats has two lateral end portions which are formed respectively with vertically extending cylindrical members which are received in an adjacent pair of the engaging grooves of an adjacent pair of the connectors such that the cylindrical members are rotatable axially for folding and unfolding of the slats relative to the adjacent pair of the connectors. The slidable coupling units are mounted on upper ends of selected ones of the connectors, and extend into and are slidable along the slide channel so as to permit movement of the door unit to an unfolded state to close the entrance to the room, and so as to permit movement of the door unit to a folded state to open the entrance to the room.

3994330 - Releasably restrained folding door for showers and the like - Owned by American Shower Door Co., Inc. (Santa Monica, CA)

A plurality of vertical panels have edge slip hinge joint members adapted to unite mirror oriented similar adjacent panels. Each panel has a top clip and a bottom clip. Alternate top clips have swivelled roller pairs which ride on horizontal beams of the door frame header. Bottom panel clips have a guide pin depending into a channel in the bottom track of the door frame. Each panel clip has a platform extending across the top or bottom terminal end of the hinge joint of the joined panel edges. The platforms cooperate to preclude vertical displacement of the panels with respect to one another. Retainers at each of two vertical end rails extend transversely to cooperate with a bottom horizontal restraint rib to limit vertical displacement of the folding door bottom with respect to the door frame. Shaped prongs within each panel clip cooperate with aperture walls at the top and the bottom of each panel to secure the clips thereto and to prevent displacement of the apertured panel from the prongs.

6955205 - Panel system and hinge device therefor - Owned by Aluminum Systems NZ Limited (Auckland,NZ)

A panel system comprises at least one bi-fold panel assembly (2, 3) of two panels hinged together along one edge (18) of each so as to be foldable thereabout, with at least one edge (20, 22, 24, 26) of the bi-fold panel assembly (2, 3) supported by a hinge device (30, 32, 34, 36) comprising two parallel pivot supports spaced apart in a plane orthogonal to pivot axes thereof, and a connecting link for in-situ connection therebetween. Hence the bi-fold panel assembly (2, 3) can be optionally connected in-situ by the connecting link to thereby obtain optional configurations of the panel system.

5549148 - Blade for accordion storm shutter - Owned by Wrono Enterprise Corp. (Hallandale, FL)

An accordion storm shutter assembly includes a frame for installation in an opening in a building wall and a pair of folding shutters which can be drawn together across the opening. Each shutter is formed from a number of blades articulated along vertical edges so that the blades can fold flat when the shutter is open. When the shutter is closed, the blades make a substantial angle with one another, so that the shutter has a corrugated configuration for high impact resistance. Neighboring blades are interconnected by continuous extruded linear hinges, each including a socket which is substantially an arc of a cylindrical shell having a lengthwise gap, and a knuckle adapted to turn within the socket and having a blade arm extending therefrom through the gap. The shutter is intended to provide protection against winds and debris in tropical storms.

4276919 - Enclosure doors

An enclosure for a tub or shower comprising a pair of sliding doors which can fold relative to each other along a vertical junction. Each door is supported by an offset hanger and is pivotal about its hanger. The hangers include rollers which slide within an overhead track. The doors can be functioned to slide along the track, to pivot about the hangers and to fold together to fully expose the interior of the enclosure.
