A spray head for discharging a spray pattern in which the entire inner portion of the pattern has liquid atomized therein. A plurality of orifice channels receive fluid radially from a relatively large central supply channel. Preferred embodiments are disclosed in which the spray head is a unitary molded component having no moving parts. Other preferred embodiments are disclosed in which the spray head includes an adjustment feature whereby a two-part molded head provides a desirable cone-shaped spray pattern at either relatively high or relatively low through-puts, thereby eliminating "dribble" at relatively low through-puts.
By incorporating an alkyl polyol and a water soluble or emulsifiable silicone based compound into a moderately viscous gel-type hair conditioning composition, a hair conditioning gel formulation is attained which is able to be delivered in a spray mist pattern using conventional small diametered pump spray nozzles. Preferably, the alkyl polyol has a carbon content ranging between 2 and 8, and the hydroxyl ion content ranges between 2 and 7 and are not spaced apart by more than 4 carbon atoms. It has been found that by employing this invention, the resulting gel formulation is able to be dispensed consistently, repeatedly and easily in a liquified spray mist through a pump nozzle having apertures ranging between about 0.010 and 0.030 mm.
A disposable nozzle adapter for intranasal administration of a viscous medical solution in combination with a spray container, which comprises a cylindrical body, a rod arranged in the body, and a nozzle tip. The body has a cylindrical chamber and a central bore communicated with the chamber through a channel for attachment of the spray container. The rod is provided on its one end at the least with a small-sized portion and middle-sized portion. The nozzle tip has a top wall and a cylindrical portion extending therefrom, the top wall being provided with a central spray opening including a tapered recess, and swirl grooves extending outwardly from the tapered recess to the inner surface of the cylindrical portion. The swirl grooves have a cross-sectional area increasing outwardly and its cross-sectional area is 0.03 to 0.08 mm.sup.2 at the minimum. The nozzle tip is fitted in the opening of the chamber of the body and engaged with the middle-sized portion of the rod to form an annular channel surrounding the small-sized portion of the rod and being communicated with the grooves.
Methods of creating an internal channel of a fluid-ejection device are provided. One method includes encapsulating a channel core in an element of the fluid-ejection device that corresponds to the internal channel and dissolving at least a portion of the channel core.
The present invention relates to a spray mouthpiece arranged on the outer free end of a spray tube. The mouthpiece is adapted by means of intersecting flow passages to atomize liquid which is fed to the spray tube under pressure. The arrangement according to the invention comprises an elongated sleeve which is adapted to be carefully placed on the free end of the spray tube. The sleeve is designed with an end face on which is a centrally located mouthpiece opening. In the sleeve is a cylindrical body connecting to the end face. The body has grooves with which the sleeve forms at least two ducts communicating with the tube. From the tube end, the ducts run approximately axially up to the end face. By means of the intersecting flow passages formed on the end face of the body, the ducts are connected to a chamber that connects to the mouthpiece opening.
A nozzle for a rotary water delivery system comprising at least a pair of nozzle orifices of similar size spaced apart on a face of the nozzle and having a nozzle orifice size to nozzle orifice spacing distance ratio of about 1:2 to about 1: 10, said ratio being sufficient to produce separate nozzle streams which emerge from the nozzle face as separate streams which may join together or commingle only at a distance from said face which does not appreciably increase an overall velocity of a resultant stream or commingled stream or individual streams so that the gallonage per minute delivered by the nozzle can be increased incrementally in multiples without appreciably increasing the distance thrown by the resultant water stream.
