Abstract
A ventilating means for the top of the pan or seat portion of the sanitary system. The ventilating means is provided by complementary top sections which are joined together in such a manner that intermediate portions thereof are spaced apart to provide a hollow member. Malodorous gases pass through ventilating holes in the lower section into the space between the complementary sections. An exhaust communicates with the space of the hollow device for carrying off the malodorous gases.

5016294 - Odorless toilet

A toilet and toilet seat adapter unit which can be produced at a low cost yet which provides improved sealing around the toilet seat and which is easy to clean. The toilet seat adapter unit is disposed between the toilet seat and the upper surface of the rim of the toilet bowl of a conventional toilet. The toilet seat adapter unit includes a flat plastic plate having a shape and dimension generally conforming to those of the toilet seat. The lower surface of the flat plate is placed on the upper surface of the rim of the toilet bowl. A first set of plastic clips, affixed to the lower surface of the flat plate, fits around the outer edge of the rim of the toilet bowl and prevents the flat plate from slipping on the upper surface of the rim. A flexible plastic hose is looped around the upper surface of the flat plate and held in place by a second set of plastic clips. The hose communicates with a vacuum pump or exhaust fan. The height of the second set of clips is less than the diameter of the plastic hose so that the toilet seat will slightly compress the plastic hose when in use, thereby providing a tight seal around the seat.

4085470 - Ventilated toilet device

Usual ventilating toilet devices require a relatively expensive vent system built into the seat unit or an attachment to the seat unit which has to be custom-designed for specific toilet bowl constructions. This means that they are not universal in attachment and are therefore relatively expensive. The present device is a horseshoe-shaped pad with air intake grooves on the underside and which can be engaged upon the bowl of the toilet between the bowl and the seat. A suction housing at the rear includes a sliding drawer at the front which can be adjusted to align with the rear curvature of the bowl and which can control the degree of suction to the bowl. The outlet on the side of the housing can readily be fitted upon either side depending upon installation requirements. The side not used is closed off with a sliding drawer or panel which can be used for access for cleaning, for insertion of deodorant material or the like, and to further control the degree of suction within the toilet bowl.

4726078 - Toilet ventilation system

A toilet ventilation generally comprised of an inventive toilet seat, a pre-filter, a water bleed-off means, an exhaust tubular member, and an electrically powered air extraction means. The inventive toilet seat rests directly on a toilet bowl rim and contains a plurality of ducts within the toilet seat. The series of ducts guide the odorous air toward the air extraction means. A water bleed-off means is implemented to trap moisture suspended in the odorous air and to prevent the moisture from entering the exhaust tubular member and the air extraction means thereby increasing the expected life of the ventilation system.

4301555 - Replaceable filter for deodorizing the air from a toilet bowl

A replaceable filter having activated charcoal or the like therein for deodorizing the air from a toilet bowl. The filter adapted for attachment to the bottom of a toilet seat and providing a seal between the seat and the top of the bowl. Further, the filter may be placed on top of the seat or incorporated inside a hollowed out toilet seat.

6546567 - Commode ventilation system

An improved apparatus for ventilating bathroom odors of a commode is provided. The apparatus provides a seat containing an entire ventilation system including an intake, an air plenum positioned within the interior of the seat. At least one air filter is positioned within the air passage. A fan or blower motor is used to move air through the air passage and the filtered air exits through an edge of the seat, the blower fan controlled by a battery pack contained within the commode seat. An external pushbutton switch sets a time that controls operation of the ventilation system. The replaceable filter is accessible from an outer edge of the commode seat.
