3995492 - Sound-producing isometric exerciser

An isometric exerciser formed by a pair of spaced bodies joined together by a link associated with a transducer and ensheathed in a cover to define a structure having a generally oblong configuration. By grasping the ends of the exerciser in his hands, a user is able to exert a compressive or tension force on the transducer. The transducer converts this force into a corresponding electrical value that is applied to a pulse generator coupled to a loudspeaker housed within the structure, thereby producing a train of audible pulses whose repetition rate, tone and amplitude depend on the applied force. Thus the user receives a continuous audible feedback, permitting him to adjust the applied force to a desired level. By means of a counter responsive to the output of the pulse generator, one is able to score the user's performance.

5633625 - Electronic chime module and method - Owned by Saturn Electronics & Engineering, Inc. (Auburn Hills, MI)

An exponentially decaying chime sound is generated with a single tri-statable output pin from a microprocessor which is implemented using a single digital output pin line to create states of low, high and disconnect which are input to a control circuit for output to a speaker. Preferably, the control circuit comprises a low pass filter in series with a buffer. Preferably, the buffer is a Darlington transistor. Preferably, the speaker is an electro-mechanical device, alternatively it may be a piezo-resistive device. A method is disclosed for generating a desired audible chime signal with a chime generating circuit regulating a tri-statable output via a single pin of a microprocessor to approximately generate a desired signal frequency, and preferably includes regulating said tri-statable output to produce amplitude decay of the desired signal frequency over time.
