Abstract
The present invention provides an automatic retooling means in machines working with two cooperating tools such as stamping, nibbling and like machines. The automatic retooling means provide for the transfer and return of pairs of tools from a magazine to their working position in a machine. The automatic retooling means include a plurality of superposed pairs of turret head plates to carry respective cooperating pairs of tools in the magazine in positions relative to their corresponding working position, and two parallel and simultaneously operating tool changing means arranged for transporting and returning the respective tools from the magazine to their working position in the machine.

3853029 - TURRET PUNCHING MACHINES - Owned by Pierce-All Manufacturing Limited (Slough, Buckinghamshire,EN)

A turret punching machine has a frame consisting of spaced upper and lower limbs extending at right angles to the front edge of the machine, a spindle carrying a rotatable upper turret supported by the upper limb and being axially displaceable against a resilient force biassing it in the reverse direction, a ram mounted in the frame for axial movement and a rotatable lower turret the arrangement being such that the path of movement of the periphery of the turrets lies adjacent the front edge of the machine and that the punches carried by the upper turret during rotation of the turret move in succession below the ram which is disposed coaxially with and above an extreme laterally disposed punch station when viewed from the front of the machine.

3937057 - Manipulator system - Owned by AB Carbox (Ystad,SW)

A manipulator system for automatically feeding blanks into a gap press and for collecting finished articles therefrom has two major parts. The first part is a revolver table and the second part is an automatic handling device, or robot. The revolver table should be located between the press and the robot. It is stepwise rotatable around a vertical axis and has a number of arms each carrying a set of tools. The robot has at least two arms swingable around a vertical axis between positions for collecting blanks, for temporary holding of semiprocessed articles, as well as for placement of blanks and semifinished articles between selected tool sets on the arms of the revolver table and for sequential working in the press and for delivery of finished articles.

5346454 - Turret punch press - Owned by Amada Manufacturing America, Inc. (LaMirada, CA)

A turret punch press (1) includes an upper turret (5) for holding punches (P) and a lower turret (7) for holding dies (D). The diameter of the lower turret (7) is larger than that of the upper turret (5) so that a punch exchange position (61) and a die exchange position (61), which are opposite to a punching position (21), are separated away from each other. This arrangement enables the die to be exchanged from above the same, expands the freedom of designing of dies, improves workability, and realizes an automatic die exchange in an automatic index station.

3921887 - Process for continuously processing a web or strip material in a press - Owned by Aida Engineering Kabushiki Kaisha (Tokyo,JA) Zaidan Hojin Kikai Shinko Kyokai (Tokyo,JA)

A process for continuously pressing a web or strip material in a press in which there is an upper and lower die unit assembly with each unit including a series of aligned dies assigned for differently or progressively pressing said material. After a pressing operation for prodicing a desired product, the die unit assembly can be removed from said press with a cut-off portion of the strip remaining in the dies and stowed in a storage. Thereafter, when said press is operated for another pressing operation for producing said desired product, the die unit assembly is taken out of said storage reset in the press, and the strip portion left in the dies is welded or brazed to the web or strip portion being fed to the press.

3938416 - Punching or nibbling presses having a turret

A puching press with a very strong main swanneck frame having an upper arm carrying a punching head equipped with an actuating slide, and a lower arm provided with an anvil. A rotary turret is provided with a plurality of punches engageable selectively with the actuating slide by rotation of the turret, and the turret is also provided with a plurality of punching dies each corresponding to a punch and locatable over the anvil by synchronous rotation with the punches. The turret is mounted on a second swanneck frame disposed outside of the slot of the first swanneck frame.
