A golf club and bag container includes an upper body which may be releasably secured to a lower body. The lower body is formed to receive the base of a golf club bag and completely surrounds the lower portion of the golf bag. The upper body of the container fits over the golf club heads and upper part of the golf bag and is secured to the lower body section to completely enclose the golf clubs and golf bag.

Apparatus for protectively securing golf head covers to a golf bag to prevent loss or damage of head covers is disclosed. A plurality of grommets are disposed in uniform spaced relation about the upper periphery of a golf bag. A like plurality of flexible members has first ends thereof attached to a corresponding grommet, and second ends thereof attached to the ring means commonly on the upper surfaces of golf head covers. In two embodiments of this invention the grommets are disposed along a strap member adapted to be attached to a golf bag at the divider strap attachment point commonly provided on golf bags. In one of these, the strap member is provided with clips or snap fasteners for attachment to the portion of the club divider strap located on the exterior surface of the golf bag; in the other, the strap member of this invention is passed through the club divider strap grommets and its ends are connected to encircle the portion of the peripheral surface of the golf bag between the club divider strap grommets. In other embodiments of this invention the flexible members are attached to grommets disposed directly through the golf bag itself, or to grommets disposed through the club divider strap within the golf bag.

A wrap-around club holding collar for golf bags having an annular cross-section and comprising an annular resilient band extending axially from the bag mouth and having spaced edge notches in its extended marginal edge portion, said notches being maintained in optimum shape for releasably gripping the club heads by internal stresses generated when wrapping the band around the bag mouth periphery. The collar band is preferably formed from a blank of equilibrized or equipoised resilient material and then wrapped and secured around the mouth periphery, at which time, internal compressive and tensile bending stresses are generated in the inner and outer wall segments of the band respectively. The compressive stress decreases the length of the inner wall arcuate segments along with the widths of the transverse notch lengths in the extending marginal edge portion thereof, while the tensile stress increases the length of the outer wall arcuate segment and the widths of the notch lengths therein forming continuations of the respective first named notch lengths, thereby causing the notch lengths in the concave inner wall arcuate segments to exert the major gripping action upon the respective club heads when inserted in the notches.

A cushioning pad for relieving the strain of carrying luggage, which pad is removable and attachable to a plurality of luggage pieces by means of a pair of stretchable elastic bands provided in the cushioning pad by through holes positioned at each end thereof. The cushioning pad of the present invention can be used on hand-held luggage, as well as luggage using a strap for carrying the luggage over the shoulder, such as garment bags. The stretchable elastic bands are used to not only secure the cushioning pad to the luggage handle or strap, but are also used to join a plurality of luggage pieces using the same cushioning pad. A plurality of hangers contained within one garment bag can also be joined together by one of the pair of elastic bands, with the other one of the pair of elastic bands used to secure the cushioning pad to the handle of the garment bag.

A club container is removably mounted on a cart and has a bottom notch receiving a crossrod of the cart and an upper, releasable latch. The club container has a pleated, flexible plastic irons separator and has long tubular sockets receiving shafts of the woods. The cart has a frame of two U-shaped tubes secured together by rivets which also pivot a U-shaped wheel suspension tube carrying pivot pins on which are pvioted circle-carrying arms biased by torsion spring rods secured to the tube. To form a folding linkage, a pair of rods having bent-over lower end portions trapped in the wheel suspension tube are held together with bent-over, upper end portions trapped in a block secured to a handle. Two pairs of legs pivotally secured to a seat and having ends hooked into the frame of the cart mount the seat, along with a pair of braces hooked into the frame and slidable along one of the pairs of rods, for overcenter movement between a seating position and a folded position.
