A feed mechanism for feeding workpieces separately to a press comprising a base and a reciprocable feeding assembly. The feeding assembly embodies pusher means arranged to engage the lowermost workpiece in a stack of workpieces situated in a hopper on the base so that on reciprocation of said assembly, the pusher means pushes said lowermost workpiece forwardly to an intermediate station on the base. The feeding assembly also includes a pair of calipers adapted at their leading ends to move between open and closed positions so that in the closed position a workpiece previously deposited at said intermediate station will be gripped by the calipers and moved forwardly to the press in which it is to be deposited. Means are provided to open the calipers when the feeding assembly is at the end of its forward stroke in order that the workpiece carried by the calipers will be dropped into the press. The feeding assembly then returns to its rearward position so that the calipers can again pick up from said intermediate station another workpiece deposited there by said pusher means on the previous stroke of the feeding assembly.
Manipulator for a rolling mill and particularly for a rolling mill for ingots or billets of steel. The manipulator comprises a pusher for pressing the ingot or billet through the roll-nip of the rolls at the beginning of rolling, and grab means for manipulating the ingot or billet during rolling when the pusher is raised up and the grab means can reach the ingot or billet.
A device for removal of a moulded product from a rotational moulding machine with one or a plurality of two-part moulds. The mould or moulds are movable between a closed and an open position on rotative supports in the machine frame. The removal means comprises a pair of complementary grasping elements operative to straddle each mould on either side of the mould opening zone and which can be moved towards each other at the moment when opening of the mould commences to grasp and hold the moulded product therein prior to further opening movement of the mould and to release the product therefrom. The grasping element support is operable to move from the position straddling the mould and to a position outside the machine for discharge of a moulded product, and vice versa.
An electronically-controlled apparatus has a feed assembly for moving circular disk blank workpieces from a storage position to a pickup position where a pickup mechanism receives the workpiece and then carries it to an operational position within a machine tool which converts the workpiece into a pulley or like-type device while simultaneously the pickup mechanism receives a finished disk product and delivers it a collection device.
