4197697 - Alarm watch - Owned by Kabushiki Kaisha Daini Seikosha (JP)

An alarm watch has an electro-acoustic transducer with a sound releasing cavity containing a vibrating plate for releasing an audible alarm sound. The surface of the vibrating plate exposed to the open air is treated with a water-repellant material having the property to shed or repel water so that when water enters into the sound releasing cavity and wets the vibrating plate, the vibrating plate readily throws off the water thereby obtaining rapid recovery of the alarm sounding function.

3879931 - Electronic watch with an electronically operated sound producer - Owned by Citzen Watch Co., Ltd. (Tokyo,JA)

An electronically powered watch is disclosed which has an audible signal producing alarm system incorporated into the watch structure. The audible signal is produced by a vibrating membrane located laterally adjacent to the watch battery within the watch case. The audible signal emanates from the case by radial sound discharging openings provided through the watch case. The structure minimizes the overall height of the watch structure. Access to the battery is provided by a removable battery cover over an opening in the rear cover of the watch. The battery may be removed and a new battery installed by merely removing the battery cover without disturbing the vibrating membrane or removing the entire rear cover of the watch.

4534661 - Electric alarm wristwatch including cylindrical sound tube for transmitting sound - Owned by Kabushiki Kaisha Suwa Seikosha (Tokyo,JP)

An electronic alarm wristwatch including a wristwatch case with a time display and an alarm buzzer therein wherein the display overlaps at least a portion of the alarm buzzer is provided. The alarm buzzer is positioned in a sound member in registration with buzzer openings in the watchcase for directing the buzzer sound to the time display side of the wristwatch. By overlapping the time display and buzzer, the size of the time display area may be increased without increasing the overall size of the wristwatch.
