Abstract
In a game machine wherein the image of a road and the images of motor vehicles running on said road can be formed on a screen, there are provided at least one rotatable disc and at least one rotatable ring. The disc and the ring are so arranged that they form an annular space therebetween. Motor vehicle models carried by the disc and/or the ring are disposed in the annular space. A linkage connects a player operated accelerator pedal to an oscillating drive assembly to tilt the disc-ring assembly to produce an illusory effect of banking.

4340219 - Toy wth interlocking object and obstacle

A toy has a housing in which is rotatably supported at least one disc having a plurality of object members on it. The object members are fixed to the disc and therefore movable with it. The toy includes a motor which drives the discs via a clutch. The clutch has two positions, one an engagement position wherein the disc is driven and the other a non-engagement position wherein the motor is no longer capable of driving the disc. A movable member is mounted on the housing and positioned in association with the disc. By moving over the surface of the disc, the movable member is capable of individually contacting each of the obstacles on the disc and upon such contact, the movable member is capable of interlocking with each of the obstacles to stop the rotation of the disc and shift the clutch into the non-engagement position where it remains until otherwise acted on. The toy includes a reset mechanism capable of disrupting the interlockment between the movable member and any of the obstacles allowing the clutch to shift from the non-engagement back to an engagement position and once again drive the disc.

4167822 - Driving toy projector - Owned by Marvin Glass & Associates (Chicago, IL)

Apparatus for projecting moving images of a travel path environment onto a remote surface simulating the operation of an automobile, airplane or other conveyance comprises a projector housing having a control end and an opposite end with an opening therein for passing a light beam generally longitudinally of the housing toward the remote surface. A beam forming light source is mounted for manually controlled lateral movement adjacent the control end of the housing and forms a light beam projecting outwardly through and shaped by said opening onto the remote surface. An endless belt having a run moving longitudinally of the light beam toward the light source is provided in the housing with one or more image forming devices mounted on the belt to form moving images with the light beam. Control means in the form of a steering wheel is provided for manually controlling the lateral position of the light source in the housing and thereby simulate lateral movement of a motor vehicle or other conveyance during its operation. The endless belt is provided with a plurality of spaced apart openings thereon and the image forming devices in the form of transparencies or models of motor vehicles or other conveyances can be removably mounted in selected ones of the openings as desired to provide a variety in the environment projected by the beam to test the driving skill of a driver during operation of the driving toy projector.

4231571 - Portable obstacle toy - Owned by Tomy Kogyo Co., Inc. (Tokyo,JP)

An electrical mechanical toy has a housing including a base. A small electrical drive motor is mounted on the base and a drive diverter-transmission operatively connects to the drive motor. Also attached to the base is an endless belt mounting member having at least one endless belt mounted thereon such that the endless belt is capable of continuously traveling or orbiting about the mounting member. The drive diverter-transmission is connected to the endless belt such that the endless belt is driven by the drive motor about the mounting member. The endless belt includes at least one obstacle on its surface. An object member is slidably mounted on the base and includes an object attached to the object member and positioned proximal to the surface of the endless belt allowing the object to slide transversely to the direction of travel of the endless belt between an interference position with the obstacle on the surface of the endless belt and a non-interference position wherein the object does not interfere with the obstacle. The toy includes a detector which detects when the object is in the interference position with the obstacle and which disconnects the drive diverter-transmission from driving the endless belt when the obstacle is in the interference position. If the drive diverter-transmission is so disconnected a manual reset is actuated to restart movement of the endless belt.
