4434983 - Golfer's stance mat

A rectangular mat having a side edge extending generally parallel to the flight direction of a golf ball is fixed to the ground for fore and aft reversible orientation, fixedly mounts a tee bar type golf swing guide member in strip form on the upper surface of the mat including a base strip defining the golfer swing path and bearing multiple tee positions along its length to the right and left of a center strip guide leg extending perpendicularly outwardly therefrom. The guide leg bears an adjustably positioned foot placement member along the length of the guide leg and controlling the position of the golfer's feet to respective sides of the center guide leg and at a desired distance from the base strip. A face reversible tee placement instruction strip is removably mounted to the upper surface of the mat and bears indicia relative to the tee placement positions for right and left handed golfers on respective faces thereof. The mat is reversed fore and aft and the instruction strip upturned and reverse face mounted to the mat to meet driving range requirements for servicing both right and left hand golfers.

5938539 - Golf swing practice aid and method

A triangular guide placed horizontally on the ground between a golfer and a golf ball (11), having a base side (1) parallel to the desired trajectory line (14) for the ball, and left and right sides (4, 5) attached to the base side, converging to a front apex (6) pointing toward the ball. A golfer stands with the thighs, shoulders, and hips aligned with the base of the guide. On the back-swing, the golfer aligns the left forearm with the right side of the guide. On the follow-through, the golfer, aligns the right forearm with the left side of the guide. Labels on the guide remind the golfer of the use of the guide, and of certain aspects of the swing. A ball position indicator (20) may be attached to the practice aid to provide practice in ball placement relative to the golfer.

6102811 - Crested lie board - Owned by Henry-Griffitts, Inc. (Hayden Lake, ID)

A lie board used for fitting golf clubs to golfers having a crested portion. In one embodiment the upper surface of the lie board is curved convexly with respect to the lower surface of the lie board. The crested portion can include the entire lie board, or only the portion where contact between the sole of the club and the board is anticipated. The crested portion can have curvature in only a single direction, or it can be curved in orthogonal directions to produce an essentially dome-shaped lie board. When only a single direction of curvature is used, the curvature is preferably in the intended general direction of the travel of the club head across the lie board.

5417428 - Golfer's aid - Owned by 953406 Ontario Limited (Waterloo,CA)

A golf monitoring device and method of use thereof relates to a one-piece elongated layer of rigid but slightly flexible plastic that has fold lines and can be folded into three sections. The device has a front edge and a rear edge with one straight side edge and one curved side edge. The device fits entirely between the golfer and the ball with the golfer's feet adjacent to the straight edge and the ball adjacent to the curved edge. The ball is located on an opposite side of the device from the golfer's feet and neither the ball nor the golfer's feet are supported or located on the device. The curved edge approximates a two-dimensional path of a golf swing. Along the straight edge is a rear foot indicator, which is variable within a defined limit, and a front foot indicator which is fixed. On the curved edge, there is a ball indicator which is variable. The ball indicator is located near to the front of the device and provides for placement of the ball in a location where the ball will form an acute-angled triangle with the foot indicators.

4151990 - Billiard aiming guide

A device is provided for instructing and training in the aiming of a billiard cue ball for proper contact with an object ball. The device is a flat compliant structure having an elongated shape possessing symmetry about a longitudinal axis and comprising an object ball locator, an aiming pattern, and a pointer centered on said axis. The device is sufficiently thin so as not to deflect billiard balls during play, and small enough in size to be utilized near the corners of a billiard table playing surface.
