A deformable plastic dispensing cap of the snap-on type wherein a retractable dome covers a dispensing cylinder which is in communication with the interior of the container or tube. The upper portion of the dome is provided with partable lips, which expose the cylinder when parted, for dispensing the contents of the container or tube. To retain the dome lips in the retracted position, the interior of the dome is provided with ribs having projections thereon for engaging bosses provided on the outer periphery of the dispensing cylinder. The base portion of the cap which is integrally formed with the dome portion, snaps over the shoulder portion of the container or tube and is rotatable in the shoulder portion groove. The base portion of the cap is provided with finger gripping projections which enable a user of the cap to grip the projections, exert force downwardly thereon parting the dome lips and exposing the dispensing orifice of the cylinder, rotate the cap assembly until the projections in the ribs engage the bosses and release the base portion, causing the projections to snap into position in detents provided in the bosses. The cap assembly will then be retained in the open position until the base portion is again rotated, releasing the rib projections from the cylinder bosses, permitting the dome lips to snap back into their closed position.
A telescoping nozzle assembly adapted to be secured to the pouring opening of a container to facilitate pouring of fluid from the container includes a base member adapted to be received in the container pouring opening. A helically formed member is provided having an end portion secured to the base member and an opposite end portion shaped in the form of a pull-tab member. The helically formed member is extendible from a normally collapsed helical condition within the container pouring opening to an elongated helical condition. A resilient covering surrounds the helically formed member and is extendible with the helically formed member from the normally collapsed helical condition to the elongated helical condition. The resilient covering has a bottom surface portion sealingly connected with the base member, and an open top surface portion which defines a generally circular opening in the resilient covering. In order to dispense fluid from the container through the telescoping nozzle assembly, the pull-tab member is grasped and pulled in a direction away from the pouring opening in the container to extend the helically formed member and resilient covering from the normally collapsed helical condition to the elongated helical condition. Extending the helically formed member and resilient covering forms a hollow interior portion within the resilient covering through which fluid is dispensed. After pouring is completed, the pull-tab member is released to allow the helically formed member and resilient covering to automatically collapse into the container pouring opening.
A dispensing valve is provided for dispensing fluid products. The valve includes a marginal portion, a flexible valve head with a discharge orifice therein, and a flexible connector sleeve having one end connected with the marginal portion and the opposite end connected with the valve head adjacent a marginal edge thereof.
