A moisturized towelette impregnated with wet powder, such as talc, which, after use on the skin and evaporation of the moisture therefrom, leaves a deposit of powder on the skin. Preferably, the towelette is made of a non-woven material, or paper, cotton, rayon, or a mixture of these materials or a woven material.
In one aspect, compounds having antiviral activity and having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein each R.sup.2, independently, is H or lower (fewer than 6 carbon atoms) alkyl; each R.sup.3, independently, is H or lower alkyl R.sup.0 is H or lower alkyl, R.sup.1 is H or lower alkyl; 1.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.11; n-2.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.2n; 0.ltoreq.p.ltoreq.3; z is 0 or 1; and p.ltoreq.q.ltoreq.2p; each n, m, p and q being selected so that the sp.sup.3 valence shell of each carbon atom in each ring is filled; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A novel gypsum board having antifungal properties is disclosed. The board comprises a gypsum core, front and back paper facings and an antifungal agent effective at inhibiting fungal growth. A preferred antifungal agent is cetylpyridinium chloride. The antifungal agent can be present in the gypsum core and/or on one or both of the paper facings. In addition, the antifungal agent may be encapsulated in a material that releases the antifungal agent over time and/or upon exposure to moisture. Also disclosed are methods for preparing the aforementioned antifungal gypsum board.
A disposable feminine hygiene kit and system that includes a douche composition for internal cleansing of the vagina, and a wipe solution for external cleansing of the vulva. The douche formulation may be a ready-to-use liquid solution, or a concentrate. It comprises inorganic salts, as well as a buffering agent for pH adjustment. The concentrate does not require a preservative. The ready-to-use liquid solution incorporates the ingredients of the concentrate, and also includes a preservative. The compositions of both the liquid and the concentrate comprise a multiple electrolyte solution, pH-adjusted and isotonic (after dilution of the concentrate), resulting in optimal vaginal compatibility. The douche composition is used in combination with a preserved anti-bacterial wipe solution for use upon the external vulva. The wiping solution is preferably incorporated into a towelette application.
