A process and composition for removing dye material from keratin fibers, such as human hair, to produce fibers having the desired color shade and which will be stable to oxidation. More particularly, a process for removing dye material, such as oxidative dyes, from human hair by subjecting the fibers to compositions containing dye reducing agents, such as metal sulfoxylate-formaldehyde, urea or thioureas, in combination with a stabilizing agent of the alkali metal bisulfate class. The treated fiber has been found to inhibit the redevelopment of the undesired color.
An absorbent prepared by supporting an organic or inorganic reductive substance on hydrated aluminum silicate is useful as a pharmaceutical or as an absorbent for precious metal complexes such as gold complex, silver complex and the like.
A composition for the decoloration of dyed hair consists of an alkaline Composition A containing at least one reducing agent and having a pH-value between 7.5 and 12.5, and a Composition B stored separately therefrom until application, having a highly acidic pH-value of 1 to 4 and containing at least one oily or fatty substance, at least one water-soluble emulsifier and at least one perfume, being present as an emulsion. Both Compositions are admixed immediately prior to application, whereby a product with a pH-value of 2.5 to 5.0 is obtained. This product can be distributed evenly on the hair without dripping, has an agreeable smell by the perfume contained and stabilized in Composition B, and effects even decoloration of the dyed hair.
A composition for permanently straightening and/or waving hair comprises 10-25 weight percent sodium bisulfite, 10-25 weight percent urea, and 0.1-10 weight percent morpholine. The composition is applied in a primarily aqueous solution at near neutral pH (5-8) and at tepid temperatures (35.degree.-55.degree.C.) for a period of time ranging between 10 and 30 minutes.
The composition for dyeing fibers is obtained before use by mixing a first component A1, containing at least one enamine of the formula (I) ##STR00001## with a second component A2, containing at least one carbonyl compound. A multi-component kit for dyeing and, later on, decolorizing fibers, and a method for temporarily dyeing hair with the composition for dyeing fibers and later removing the dyed hair color with a decolorizing component B containing a sulfite are also provided. The multi-component kit for dyeing and, later on, decolorizing fibers, separately contains the first component A1, the second component A2 and the decolorizing component B.
