Abstract
A metering device for plastic materials comprising a bin having a rotating feed disc at the bottom thereof. The feed disc has peripheral cogs which partially define a metering chamber. Facing the metering disc is an ejection disc having teeth meshing with the cogs for forcing material into the metering chamber and ejecting the material from the metering chamber through an opening in the side of the bin.

4881919 - Bulk coin hopper - Owned by Ardac, Inc. (Eastlake, OH)

A bulk coin hopper has an angled rotating disk positioned at the bottom of a chamber. A circumferential edge of the rotating disk communicates with an exit slot, from which coins are ejected. Overlapping such disk at the opening is a dispensing disk which is adapted for engaging coins carried by the first-named disk and ejecting the same from the slot.

5061222 - Coin hopper and dispenser - Owned by Dixie-Narco, Inc. (Ranson, WV)

A coin hopper and dispenser is provided for receiving coins in bulk and singularly and reliably dispensing them. A rotating disc is received within a housing bore below the hopper, the disc having a number of coin receiving bores passing therethrough. On a bottom surface of the disc, riding upon a bottom plate surface within the housing bore, is a dispensing wheel having a thickness slightly greater than the thickness of the coins to be dispensed. The dispensing wheel has arms thereon extending between the coin receiving bores of the disc, the arms urging coins against a deflection spring which directs them through a coin slot. A spring retention plate is provided at the exterior of the coin slot to assure that the coins are overtly dispensed by rotation of the disc.

4997405 - Coin payout system - Owned by Ardac, Inc. (Eastlake, OH)

A coin payout system for a currency validator is presented. The system includes a bulk coin hopper having a pair of rotating discs at the bottom thereof. The discs each have a hole passing therethrough, with the holes of the two discs being in periodic registration with each other to pass coins from the bulk hopper to a dispensing area. One of the discs is caused to rotate at twice the speed of the other disc to accommodate the transfer function.

5713975 - Method and apparatus for producing blank-molded glass bodies for optical equipment - Owned by Deutsche Spezialglas AG (DE)

When blank-molded optical glass bodies are manufactured according to known methods based on blank-molding technology, the product exhibits rings in the glass and folds as well as an impression that precisely coincides with the contact surface of the parison inside the pressing die before the pressing operation. These defects are not permissible in blank-molded lenses, however, because they cause an undesirable optical effect such as changing the glare value in automobile headlights. Such defects are process-dependent and are caused by the fact that the transfer of the parison to the pressing die and the pressing itself are two separate operations that are performed with different tools. According to the invention, the formation of folds and rings in the glass as well as an impression of the contact surface of the parison are prevented by the fact that the removal and the transfer of the parison to the pressing die and the pressing cycle are performed without interruption with one and the same tool (multi-purpose tool). In a further development of the invention, the pressing operation is performed in two steps to take into account the given thermal inhomogeneities in the formed bodies.
