This is a continuation-in-part of my copending application Ser. No. 181,638, filed Sept. 17, 1971, and abandoned after the filing of this application; application Ser. No. 181,638 is in turn a continuation-in-part of my copending application Ser. No. 100,410, filed Dec. 21, 1970 and abandoned after the filing of application Ser. No. 181,638.
Substituted 1-hydroxy-2-(1,1-difluoroalkyl)-1H-imidazo-(4,5-b)pyridine compounds useful as herbicides; and intermediates useful in the synthesis of these compounds. In addition to exhibiting herbicidal activity, the substituted 1-hydroxy-2-(1,1-difluoroalkyl)-1H-imidazo(4,5-b)pyridine compounds are of low mammalian toxicity.
