A reflector of a sealed-beam headlight has a tubular neck provided with an outer opening encircled by a retaining ring which is fixed to the neck. A bulb extends through the outer open end into the reflector having a socket located in the neck and in turn encircled by a radially extending annular mounting flange. A cup-shaped member surrounds the outer open end and has engaging portions in snug-fitted engagement with the retaining ring, and at least one sealing ring is sealingly compressed between the cup-shaped member and one or both of the mounting flange and the socket.
A lamp assembly that includes a sleeve-like seal carried by the socket member that provides a bulb to socket terminal seal as well as a seal between the socket member and the lamp housing.
A retaining arrangement for a replaceable bulb mounted in a vehicle headlamp reflector that includes a grip member and a cooperating lock nut. The former of which is adapted to be press fitted onto and retained by spring fingers on a cylindrical boss surrounding the socket formed in the headlamp reflector.
In a vehicle headlight a lamp holder for holding a bulb in an apex opening of a reflector is formed with three axially extended locking arms having hooks insertable into the slots provided in the reflector. Each slot defines on the surface of the reflector a bearing surface having an insertion portion and an arresting portion. Each hook, upon pivoting of the lamp holder is inserted into the assigned slot and is engaged behind the arresting portion to arrest the lamp holder on the backside of the reflector.
A lamp is attached to the back end of a synthetic resin reflector through a synthetic resin lamp holder. A heat shielding member made of a metal such as stainless steel, aluminium or general steel plate is appropriately attached to the lamp holder to cover the circumferential face of said lamp holder in such a way that said circumferential face is not subjected directly to the light projected from a filament in the lamp.
A headlight for a motor vehicle includes a bulb holder carrying a bulb, and a reflector of thermosetting plastics, which is releasably connectable to the bulb holder by a bayonet-type lock. A clamping ring mounted on the bulb holder effects a bayonet-type connection between the bulb and the bulb holder.
