An electrical signaling device for providing intermittent and continuous indicating signals in response to first and second successive signals wherein an unstable multi-vibrator is switched by the first signal to activate an indicator and deactivated by the second signal to connect the indicating means directly to a source of power. The unstable multi-vibrator may alternatively comprise two and three transistors and the multi-vibrator output may alternatively be supplied to the indicating means through an amplifier.
In a display terminal coupled to a computer and including a plurality of user interrupt devices for interactive communication with the computer, an apparatus for signalling to the user when the computer responds to a user interrupt comprises a counter arranged to measure a specified period of time by counting down to zero from an initial count value loaded from a register, a sensor triggered by the generation of an interrupt to cause the counter to begin measurement of the said specified period of time, and a further sensr coupled to an alarm via a logic gate to provide an audible signal only when the period of time between the generation of the interrupt and the computer response exceeds the specified period of time measured by the counter.
An improved timepiece to be worn by pilots of aircraft which provides a means to alert the pilot of multiple sequenced event occurrences, in a failsafe manner, via multiple alarm means including visual (29-32), auditory (36), and tactile (37) ability. The six in-flight timers, accessible through buttons (1-4), allow the pilot comprehensive user progranmable features in order to meet the needs of a given flight. This watch solves previously unrecognized problems with regard to in-flight timing needs in general aviation. This watch is an electronic watch, specifically designed for pilots to address the plurality of in-flight timing needs, and includes a failsafe method by which to alert the wearer of time reliant in-flight, and post-flight, event occurrences. This watch also provides instant access to Zulu time and all forty-two time zones around the world. This watch is designed to assist the pilot in his awareness of engine run time, fuel tank switching time, final approach fix to missed approach point time, countdown to instrument flight rule and visual flight rule minimums, time to fix, timed turns, holding pattern timing, and time to close flight plan.
In a brake assembly (10) having an infrared fiber optic element (54) for transmitting an operational signal to a sensor (66) through which an indicator (68) is provided with a substantially instantaneous indication of the temperature of the brake stack (26).
