This invention pertains to a device, attachable to the underside of a toilet seat, adapted to receive urine from a standing person and convey it into the toilet bowl near the water level in a manner to avoid unsanitary splashing. A self rinsing feature as well as an extendible inlet end may be incorporated in the structure.
A urinal comprises a flattened urinal mounted within a toilet seat cover and a geared lever extending along the periphery of the cover which is coupled to the flatenned urinal. The geared lever engages a gearing arrangement which moves the urinal outwardly from the forward position of the cover while locking the cover in a raised position when the lever has been pulled through an angle of 180 degrees. The urinal opening comprises a funnel-shaped aperture which projects outwardly from the cover and is moved along a track by the gearing arrangement. When the lever is moved back to the closed position, an interconnected flushing valve is activated which sprays a jet of water on the entire inside of the urinal. The urinal retracts into the cover and the cover can be moved up or down.
A water closet includes a urinal disposed adjacent to a stationary bowl which is movable between a retracted position and a used position in which the urinal is arranged to receive liquid waste. The urinal is pivotally mounted to the water closet to allow the urinal to be pivoted between the retracted position and the used position. In one embodiment, the urinal pivots about a horizontal axis, while in another embodiment the urinal pivots about a vertical axis. In both embodiments, the use position is disposed forwardly of the retracted position with to respect to the user, and when in the retracted position the urinal is disposed in a recess in the tank of the water closet. A plunger-activated valve is mounted on the tank to supply a limited amount of water (such as one pint) to the urinal for flushing when the urinal is returned to the retracted position.
A urinal adapted for attachment to a toilet bowl has an apertured bracket arm connected to the seat anchor bolts and extends laterally of the toilet bowl. A swing arm is pivotally connected to the bracket arm and supports a funnel, which has a non-use position and is adapted for movement into registry with said bowl.
An improved stand-up training potty for male toddlers is disclosed. A commode having a waste-receiving pot and an open seat is equipped with a detachably fastenable urinal accessory including a conduit for receiving urine and communicating it into the pot, the conduit having an elongate region that extends upwardly and forwardly from the commode. The height of the open seat of the commode, the extent and direction in which the elongate region of the conduit extends from the commode, and the height of an open, urine-receiving end of the conduit are fixably adjustable. In a preferred embodiment, the elongate region of the conduit includes nested, interlocking, slidably extendable/retractable cylindrical members. In a modification, such a urinal accessory is provided for use with a conventional training potty, the accessory having detachable fastener means that accommodate potties have a wide range of seat depths.
An adaptable hygiene device for toilets that minimizes splashing of urine by channeling male urine into the toilet bowl. The collection apparatus or device has walls (back wall (1), top wall (5), lower wall (6), side walls (7,8)) forming a container with an front opening (10) and a bottom opening (26). The front opening (10) has a continuous edge (9) that has a front splash guard (25), wherein the front splash guard (25) configuration aids in preventing urine from splashing back out of the collection device after urine has once entered the device by a male urinating. The collection apparatus has a base portion (4) having a lip (11) formed thereon, wherein the base portion (4) has an annular base rim (12) extending radially downward from the lip (11) away from the top wall (5). The base portion lip (11) contacts with the top edge of the toilet bowl or the toilet seat, wherein the base rim (12) extends into the toilet bowl. The collection device is able to be free standing in a self-supporting manner on the toilet bowl top edge or on top of the toilet seat.
