Abstract
A manually operable pin for a wrist watch band comprising a pair of hollow, tubular members in telescopic relation. The members have extending pintles at their outer ends for engaging the watch bail openings. The inner member has a longitudinal slot spaced from the inner end. The outer member has a manually engageable tab extending upwardly adjacent its inner end. Spaced from the tab, a portion of the body extends inwardly into the slot on the inner member to permit relative telescopic movement within the limits of the slot. A coil spring is mounted within the members to normally bias the members in extended position. To lock the pin to a watch bail after it has been inserted in the end of a watch band, the pintle on the inner member is placed into one bail opening. The tab is manually moved against the action of the spring to shorten the pivot pin and allow the pintle on the outer member to be inserted in the other watch bail opening. The pivot pin is removable in the same manner, by manually engaging the tab and telescoping the members to shorten and remove the pin. No tool is necessary to insert or remove the pivot pin.

4564308 - Spring rod for strap - Owned by Mashida; Tooru (JP)

The invention provides a spring rod for a strap. A stationary member with a projection is inserted and fixed at one end of a cylinder with a longitudinal slit. A slider is slidably inserted in the cylinder with a spring interposed between the slider and the stationary member. The slider has a projection which has a tongue protruding through the slit of the cylinder.

5416953 - Wrist watch and wrist watch strap - Owned by E. Gluck Corporation (Long Island City, NY)

A wrist watch (1) and wrist watch strap combination (2, 3) includes a manually operable securing mechanism for securing the wrist watch to the wrist watch strap to allow easy removal and replacement of the strap. The mechanism may comprise links (4) on the wrist watch and on the strap which may be interlinked with one another.

4285450 - Watch band pin connector assembly

An improved connector assembly for securing a watch band to the casing of a wrist watch is provided wherein the connector assembly is a telescoping spring-biased pin assembly comprising an elongated, tubular first member having an elongated slot provided in a side portion thereof; a first post member secured to one end of the tubular first member and positionable within a socket in the watch casing; a spring disposed within the tubular first member; an elongated second member positionable within the enlongated tubular first member and biased outwardly from the tubular first member by the spring, the elongated second member being adapted to be positioned within a second socket in the watch casing which is aligned with the first socket of the watch casing; and a pick engaging surface formed on the second member for engagement with a pick inserted through the elongated slot in the first tubular member so that the second member can be moved to a retracted position within the first tubular member by the pick for selectively removing or securing the watch band to the watch by the pin assembly. The watch band for use with the above-described connector assembly is provided with tubular links disposed on each hand of the watch band, the tubular links each having an elongated slot formed in one side portion thereof which is aligned with the elongated slot of the elongated tubular first member so that the pick can be positioned there through for engagement with the pick engaging surface formed on the elongated second member of the connector assembly.

6923593 - Locking member and device - Owned by The Swatch Group Management Services AG (Biel,CH)

There is disclosed a device (1, 34) for positioning a first element (24) with respect to at least a second element (25) by means of a resilient locking member made in a single piece and having two ends (2, 3) connected by a bar (4) capable of being resiliently deformed in its axial direction (5). The longitudinal resilience of the bar (4) is due to the fact that it includes a plurality of apertures (11) over its length, said apertures (11) being located alternately on either side of a median plane (14) of the bar (4). This locking member can easily be manufactured in the form of a moulded plastic part.

5689861 - Strap clasp - Owned by Etablissements Sarran S.A. (FR)

A clasp with a locking flap (8) hingedly mounted between the arms (3a, 3b) of a yoke-shaped member (3) by means of a pin (9) extending through one portion (8a) of said flap (8). Said portion (8a) is shorter than the distance between the two arms (3a, 3b) so that the flap (8) is transversely translatable. The pin (9) has a straight portion (9c) partially inserted into a correspondingly shaped recess (13) in one arm (3b). The pin (9) is thus prevented from rotating about its own axis. The passage (14) in said portion (8a) of the flap which receives the pin (9) has an inlet (14a) shaped to fit said portion (9c) of the pin (9). A coil spring (15) on the pin (9) biases the flap (8) towards said portion (9c) of the pin (9). When the flap (8) is in the folded down or locking position, said portion (9c) of the pin (9) is inserted into the inlet (14a) of the passage (14), thereby locking the flap (8).
