Abstract
A shielding arrangement is provided for the end bends of a fin and tube coil where the end bends are located closely adjacent a fan creating a relatively high velocity of air flow, the coil including at least some tube rows unoccupied by tubes to provide passages for an induced air flow through such tube rows and then out the open side of the shielded space facing in the downstream direction of air flow created by the fan.

5447422 - Air-cooled oil-free rotary-type compressor - Owned by Hitachi, Ltd. (Tokyo,JP)

An air-cooled oil-free rotary-type compressor in accordance with the invention includes a first air cooler including a plurality of cooling pipes, a check valve, and a second air cooler. The first air cooler, the check valve and the second air cooler are provided in a passage of compressed air discharged from a compressor body. The second air cooler is disposed in a first cooling air flow direction and the second air cooler is disposed in a second cooling air flow direction substantially perpendicular to the first cooling air flow direction. The plurality of cooling pipes of the first air cooler are arranged along the second cooling air flow direction.

4240264 - Interior unit of a split type air-conditioning apparatus - Owned by Tokyo Shibaura Denki Kabushiki Kaisha (Kanagawa,JP)

An interior unit of a split type air-conditioning apparatus which is usually mounted on a wall of a room to be cooled and is extremely thin. The unit consists of a cabinet structure including a front panel, a middle frame and a rear plate, said front panel having an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening. Also included is a centrifugal fan, preferably a turbo fan with a plurality of backward curved blades, specially designed to adapt to the unit. The means for driving said fan are designed to be partly accommodated in the body of the turbo fan for the purpose of decreasing the depth of the unit.

4765152 - Beverage dispenser with a partitionless refrigerating stand - Owned by Crathco, Inc. (Canton, MA)

In a compact beverage dispenser of the type in which the conditioned beverage is chilled and displayed in a plastic bowl atop a stand which houses a compression system of refrigeration, ambient air intake is fan-driven through and along the heat-exchange fins of a condenser grid which extends horizontally fully across spaces between lateral sidewalls of the stand. A single vertical-axis motor both pumps the beverage and rotates the refrigeration-system axial-flow fan in an upper region of the stand, above the horizontal condenser; a separately-motorized compressor package is disposed in the lower region of the stand, below the horizontal condenser, where it is bathed by heat-removing air flow forced downwardly by the fan in the upper region. Walls on at least two opposite sides of the stand are provided with openings allowing essentially free lateral flow of cooling air into and out of the upper and lower regions of the stand and between the condenser-grid fins; in a narrow-dispenser construction having an elongated rectangular condenser grid, fins necessarily lying beyond the periphery of the fan are actively swept by air forced laterally through the stand.

6925836 - Built-in type refrigerator - Owned by LG Electronics Inc. (Seoul,KR)

Disclosed is a built-in refrigerator provided in a sink and effectively discharging heat from a condenser and a compressor. The built-in refrigerator includes a cabinet provided in the sink and a component chamber at a rear bottom thereof and a dust guard provided at a front bottom of the cabinet; a compressor provided in the component chamber; a condenser provided under a bottom surface of the cabinet; a ventilating passage communicating the component chamber with a bottom of the cabinet and outside of the dust guard for discharging heat generated from the condenser and the compressor to outside; and a cooling fan provided in the component chamber for cooling the compressor and the condenser.
