Disclosure is made of an inductor machine comprising a stator with a polyphase armature winding arranged on its teeth with a tooth pitch close, but not equal, to .pi. electrical degrees; the stator envelops a windingless toothed rotor, whereas a ring field winding produces a common magnetic flux enveloping the stator and the windingless toothed rotor; each phase of said armature winding consists of at least three series-connected and symmetrically arranged branches with a displacement therebetween in electrical degrees being multiple to 2.pi., each branch consisting of coils arranged upon adjacent teeth of the stator, the number of said teeth being different from the doubled number of the teeth of the windingless toothed rotor by a value equal to the doubled number of the branches.
This invention relates to a harmonically graded airgap reluctance-type rotating electric resolver. The magnetic permeance of the airgap is made to vary sinusoidally. Therefore, only the fundamental wave exists, free of higher harmonics. The invention has application in numerous fields, including commutation of brushless motors and to precisely position machinery tools relative to work pieces in numerically controlled machines.
The arrangement of a rotary apparatus for aircraft landing gears comprises, disposed in an aircraft wheel axle a modular assembly in one unit comprising a stator and a rotor which is mounted in the stator by two rolling bearings, the stator and the rotor being respectively divided into two stator parts and two rotor parts forming a genetachometer and an electromagnetic coupling of the rotating transformer type for sensors carried by the wheel.
An ordinance platform with a variable reluctance electric motor is provided. The motor has a stator integrated with a bearing race which is fixably connected with the tank body. The bearing race provides the function of a rotor and is fixably or integrally connected with the tank turret. The rotor is vertically supported by the stator for rotational movement by a plurality of ball bearings. The stator is formed having a plurality of individual phase segments which are arranged in an annular array. Each of the stator phase segments is provided with a phase winding and a plurality of stator pole teeth. The stator phase windings are connected individually to respective driver circuits so as to essentially create a plurality of individual stators about the rotor. The rotor race is formed and is provided with a plurality of rotor pole teeth which are disposed adjacent the stator pole teeth. Thus, when the phase windings of the individual stator phase segments are energized, the moveable race (integrated with the rotor and connected with the gun turret) is rotated relative to the stationary race (integrated with a stator and connected with the tank body), without any intermediate coupling device such as gears, belts and the like.
