Cholagogic composition containing as active ingredients compounds of the formula: ##SPC1## Wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and n is an integer of 1 to 3, and a pharmaceutical carrier therefor.
Compound of formula ##STR1## wherein n is 0 or 1, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently methyl, ethyl or cyclopropyl and R is an optionally substituted phenyl or heteroaryl group or salt or ester thereof are useful in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
