Abstract
A combination electrical distribution and power supply unit for recreational vehicles utilizing both AC and DC circuits wherein distribution apparatus such as circuit breakers, fuses, relays and the like are housed within one chamber of the unit, while the major heat generating components, such as a power converter transformer, are housed in a separate chamber of the unit separately ventilated and cooled. The apparatus is manufactured, shipped and installed as a unit, and includes quick attachment electrical receptacles permitting the unit to be readily connected to the recreational vehicle electrical system. The assembly includes cover plates and a hinged door wherein the unit may be mounted in a wall for access to the distribution components from the vehicle passenger compartment, and the power converter portion of the unit is accessible at the rear of the unit, and is located within the vehicle trunk or other nonoccupied vehicle compartment.

5947768 - Power distribution system isolator

A power distribution system isolator is provided including a trailer having a hitch and a pair of wheels for transportation purposes. Also included is an electrical assembly with a fuse and a pair of cables each connected to the fuse for connecting to a power distribution system to isolate the same.

5132872 - Low profile mounting assembly and cabinet enclosures for rack relay mounted rectifiers

An enclosure or cabinet is provided for single phase rectifiers that has a very low profile, low noise, efficient cooling, low temperature rise, and which is competitive with switch-mode technology rectifiers. The rack includes a chassis which is very strong and that has a horizontal base and a rear vertical wall secured to each other, and all of the components are mounted to the base or rear wall, or to components already mounted, with the single exception of a supervisory control panel which is mounted on the door panel that has been hinged to the front edge of the base. Light-weight sheet metal side walls and cabinet cover may be formed as a hood and placed over the assembled components to close the enclosure. A UI transformer and an EI saturable reactor are each mounted to the rear wall of the chassis, one above the other, and are wound in such a way that adequate air spaces exist between the coils on the core legs. Generally the UI transformer is also supported from the base. Cooling slots are formed in the horizontal base and vertical rear wall, in the cabinet side walls, and may also be formed in the cabinet top cover. All electrical connections are made at the front of the cabinet, thereby assuring easier assembly, using less material and with less chance for mistakes to be made.

4365288 - Electric power converter for recreational vehicle - Owned by Carr-Griff (Fullerton, CA)

A converter adapted to be mounted within an opening in a wall of a recreational vehicle comprising a receptacle adapted to be received within the opening and an openable cover plate attached to the receptacle to provide access to the interior of the receptacle. A base mounting plate is mounted in the receptacle and a plurality of circuit elements, including a step-down transformer, is mounted on the base mounting plate. Ventilation air is provided through vent openings in the cover plate. By utilizing high frequency alternating current, transformer size is reduced and transformer hum is eliminated.

4937730 - Constant voltage power supply - Owned by Daykin Electric Corporation (Livonia, MI)

A constant voltage power supply that includes an enclosure and a transformer positioned within the enclosure. The transformer has a primary winding and first and second sets of secondary windings mounted and magnetically coupled to each other all on a single magnetic core structure. The primary winding is connected by primary circuitry to a source of electrical power. First secondary circuitry is connected to the first secondary winding set for supplying electrical power at regulated constant voltage. Second secondary circuitry is connected to the second secondary winding set for supplying auxiliary power at unregulated voltage.

5504655 - Electric vehicle power distribution module - Owned by Westinghouse Electric Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA)

An electric vehicle power distribution module including a chassis containing electric power distribution components. A battery connector is disposed on the chassis for electrically connecting the power distribution components to a battery. A safety cover is secured to the chassis and includes an aperature in a side wall for receiving an electric cable from the battery to be selectively engaged with the battery connector. The aperture is positioned with respect to the battery connector so as to preclude removal of the safety cover from the chassis without disengagement of the electric cable from the battery connector.
