A plurality of electrically powered ceramic heating and radiating elements, each having a flat radiating side and being shaped in the form of a square or rectangle, is arranged and supported by profile girders to form a closed, consistent, and flat radiating surface framed by reflecting sidewalls.
A radiant heater comprising a plurality of individual heating elements depending from a pair of spaced apart parallel dielectric members and electrically connected to bus bars that are secured along one longitudinal edge of the dielectric members. The individual heating elements are arranged in a side-by-side relationship along the dielectric members but spaced apart so that air blown downwardly towards the heating elements is heated thereby and passes between and around the heating elements towards a surface to be heated.
An infrared ray heater unit, made of a ceramic plate carrying a resistive heater wire embedded therein, is mounted on the open end of a shallow box-like metallic case so as to emanate infrared rays, while a terminal insulator member having lead wire bosses and a securing means is inserted between the heater unit and the metallic case at the central portion of the heater unit. The metallic case has mounting holes through which the lead wire bossed and the securing means of the terminal insulator member extend, so that lead wires are connected to the infrared ray heater from the back of the metallic case at about its central portion.
An extreme infra-red rays air conditioning apparatus have a rear face plate installed on the rear face of the apparatus, a casing of square-box shape having an opening at its front face, heat radiation glass plate each made of heat-resisting reinforced glass having a plurality of small dents continuously formed or its whole face and a flat rear face. The size of glass plate is smaller than the opening of the casing and fixed to both side portions at the front face side by means of side portions of the glass plate. The air conditioning apparatus further has a number of linear shape heat generator made by melting metal alloy powder consisting of aluminum, copper, iron and the like on the flat rear face of the heat radiation glass plate in shape of printed circuit, reflex plate respectively fixed to the casing leaving gap at rear face sides of the glass plate, and extension members opening outwardly and expanded and extended to the front side end edge portions of the casing leaving distribution openings.
