An automobile cloth roll loading apparatus including an inclined roll supporting platform, a stationary barrier cooperating with the lower end portion of the platform, and means for raising the platform to a dumping or discharge position above the barrier and for lowering the platform to a roll storage position in cooperation with the barrier. A further feature of the apparatus is a cloth roll storage truck having at least one roll supporting cradle adjacent the upper end of the platform, and pivotal fingers projecting from the rear of the platform adapted to interdigitate with the cradle in order to lift and remove one roll at a time from the truck to the platform on each upward movement of the platform.

This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 117,514, filed Feb. 22, 1971, now abandoned, which was a division of original application Ser. No. 831,848, filed June 10, 1969, now U.S. Pat. No. 3,601,270, issued Aug. 24, 1971.
This invention is a wire and transport system for a communication cable manufacturing facility. Bobbins wound with insulated wire roll down a bobbin track from a location where the wires are drawn and covered with a layer of insulation. A number of full bobbins accumulate on the track, and they are transferred to an elevator that delivers them to a multi-layer inventory storage rack. Final alignment of the elevator with the tracks and compartments of the inventory storage rack is under the control of electronic apparatus; but the positioning of the elevator in the vicinity of the selected track or storage compartment is controlled by an operator who rides on a carriage on which the elevator shaft is mounted.
A package transfer apparatus comprising flappers which are juxtaposed at a travel start position of a package changing robot having attaching arms for supporting and attaching bobbin ends of packages to pegs of a creel, and are circulated while putting thereon packages supplied from a package supply section, and a tilting mechanism for tilting the flappers to transfer the package to the attaching arms.
A device for the removal of bobbins from an automatic rotor spinning machine having a conveyor belt placed on the automatic spinning machine for collecting and delivering completed bobbins comprises a transfer device with a frame, a receiving conveyor belt swiveling on the frame in a vertical direction for receiving bobbins from the automatic spinning machine, a roller conveyor section extending the receiving conveyor belt and which can be swiveled between a position inclined in the direction of feed and a horizontal position, a receiving chute placed parallel to the roller conveyor section, a pusher for transfer of bobbins from the roller conveyor section to the receiving chute, a lifting device for vertically moving the receiving chute between a position adjacent to the roller conveyor section and a number of additional positions, and a tilting device for tilting the receiving chute around its longitudinal axis between a horizontal receiving position and a position essentially at a 90.degree. angle to it for ejecting the bobbins into a magazine cart.
In apparatus for transporting and storing bobbins, especially for removing them from automatic spinning machines, the bobbins are received and collected in an inclined collecting chute from a conveyor belt, are then brought into a horizontal arrangement as a result of the pivoting of the collecting chute, and are pushed in groups from the collecting chute into a transfer chute. A conveyor carrier belonging to a suspension conveyor and provided with at least one chute portion for receiving a group of bobbins is brought into a position adjacent to the transfer chute. The transfer chute is moved into a position located next to the chute portion of the conveyor carrier, and the bobbins are transferred into the chute portion of the conveyor carrier. The bobbins are subsequently moved into a desired target position by means of the conveyor carrier.
