A bus bar for electrically coupling a plurality of spaced-apart parallel terminal pins arranged in banks is constructed of flat strips of electrically conductive material. Internal longitudinal slits divide a portion of the strip into sections with every other section being deformed to form a first generally S-shaped bend and the remaining sections being deformed to form a second generally S-shaped bend oppositely directed from the first bend to define with a first bend a pair of passages capable of receiving terminal pins. The bus bar further includes indexing marks adjacent to each pair of the passages to facilitate the manufacture of the bar. The spacing between passage pairs is infinitely variable.

An improved spring leaf construction for relays includes a cantilever blade fabricated to cooperate with a tapered lead post. The end of the blade which is attached to the post includes a pair of parallel slits defining a bridging portion. The bridging portion is friction fitted over the post and tightly engages that post. Preferably, a tapered post construction is utilized in combination with the improved cantilever blade.
Jumper connector for multiple parallel pins. This connector has a central leg and one pair of branched contacts on each side. Each pair of branched contacts engage a pin from a printed circuit board.
An electrical bus strip to receive a terminal post comprises (a) an elongated metallic bus strip; (b) a contact integral with and spaced from said strip, said contact protruding toward a plane defined by said strip, and (c) two pairs of arms having first ends integral with said strip and second ends integral with said contact to support the contact for resiliently yieldable movement normal to said planes in response to insertion of a terminal post into position between the arms of each pair and between the contact and said strip. Typically the bus strip defines an H-shaped opening generally in registration with said contact and arms which were stamped from said strip.
Contact portions of a metallic contact strip for an electrical cord connector having mirror-symmetry with respect to a longitudinal axis of symmetry include a plurality of contact portions aligned in the longitudinal direction of the contact strip. Each contact portion is defined by a pair of complementary slits through the material of the contact strip to define a central contact portion and side contact portions. The central and side contact portions are deformed in opposite directions to receive the blade of a connection plug therebetween in 3-point contact. The ends of lengthwise-adjacent slits fall on a transverse line and are displaced from each other in the transverse direction.
An enclosed matrix programming board or connecting means for joining two circuits includes connecting bars formed with split, cylindrical sockets for each connecting position and held in place by an insulator block formed with a hole for each connecting socket. Connecting pins are applied through a perforated cover plate and join a conductive bar placed in one position with a similar bar orthogonal to it. Each bar is connected to a pin extending a short distance from one of the cover plates for connection to an exterior circuit. Double connector pins, containing a diode in the handle, may be used to restrict the connecting current to one direction only. Parallel ribs are provided on the cover plates for mechanically and electrically isolating the connecting bars.
