A method of lining pipes, in which a flexible tube or hose having a surface diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the pipe is radially contracted before being placed in the pipe, the tube being held in the contracted state by wires or bands of mainly non-metallic material which are arranged around the periphery of the tube, said wires or bands, after the tube has been inserted into the pipe, being cut off or pulled off in order to release their hold on the tube.
A device for introducing an anti-microphony sponge into an air-cored coil for television channel selectors comprising an axially displaceable hollow mandrel with an end portion which comprises two diametrically oppositely situated slots. Two blocking members can be introduced into the slots, after which cutting means are displaceable in a direction transversely of the axis of the mandrel. After the introduction of a length of spongy material into the mandrel, an air-cored coil is arranged on the end portion of the mandrel, after which the blocking means are moved into the slots so that the length of spongy material is clamped on both sides of the air-cored coil. Subsequently, the mandrel is withdrawn from the coil and the length of spongy material is cut in the zone between the blocking means and the withdrawn mandrel, a piece of spongy material then being left behind in the air-cored coil. After withdrawal of the blocking means to their starting position, the air-cored coil with the piece of spongy material is discharged from the device.

The invention permits the lining of a passageway or pipeline with a resilient but robust, semi-rigid plastics pipe. The invention enables the lining of pipelines and passageways of long length by extruding the lining tube on site, deflecting the tube so that it is deflected into smaller diametral size, holding the tube in the deflected condition, feeding the deflected and held tube into the passageway to be lined, and releasing the hold on the tube so that it deflects or is deflected back to its original form and lines the pipeline or passageway.
A method of lining or relining a tunnel comprises the steps of deforming a collar for insertion into the tunnel, reforming the collar to locate it in the tunnel, overlapping the edges of a pipe having a single longitudinal split to reduce its cross-sectional area for insertion into the tunnel, re-aligning the edges and expanding the pipe in the tunnel for engagement with the sleeve, and securing the edges together to retain the pipe in its expanded form.
A process for producing a frictionally locking connection of two structural component parts, especially a shaft and a hub, including plastically deforming a round structural component part into an oval or polygonal shape by applying force, applying additional force to substantially elastically round the oval or polygonal structural component part, assembling the structural component parts while maintaining the additional force, and then cancelling the additional force so that the round structural component part springs back into the oval or polygonal shape whereby the structural component parts are connected with one another by a press fit.
