Abstract
A wristband connector including an outer tubular member having two radially inwardly projecting guides, one at each end of the outer tubular member. A lug slot extends from one end of the outer tubular member along part of its length. Two inner tubular members having an outside diameter slightly less than the inside diameter of the outer tubular member have a guide slot which cooperates with and slidingly receives the guide on the outer tubular member to prevent relative rotation of the inner tubular members and outer tubular member while permitting them to slide therein. One of the inner tubular members further includes a finger lug extending outwardly therefrom which slides in the lug slot in order to provide a manual means for retracting one of the inner tubular members into the outer tubular member thereby facilitating placement of the wristband connector on a wristwatch. Pins integral with and extending longitudinally outwardly from the inner tubular members engage outwardly extending arms of a wristwatch. A spring inside the outer tubular member biases the inner tubular members outwardly and a means for holding a wristband to the wristband connector is operatively attached to the outer tubular member.

5416953 - Wrist watch and wrist watch strap - Owned by E. Gluck Corporation (Long Island City, NY)

A wrist watch (1) and wrist watch strap combination (2, 3) includes a manually operable securing mechanism for securing the wrist watch to the wrist watch strap to allow easy removal and replacement of the strap. The mechanism may comprise links (4) on the wrist watch and on the strap which may be interlinked with one another.

4285450 - Watch band pin connector assembly

An improved connector assembly for securing a watch band to the casing of a wrist watch is provided wherein the connector assembly is a telescoping spring-biased pin assembly comprising an elongated, tubular first member having an elongated slot provided in a side portion thereof; a first post member secured to one end of the tubular first member and positionable within a socket in the watch casing; a spring disposed within the tubular first member; an elongated second member positionable within the enlongated tubular first member and biased outwardly from the tubular first member by the spring, the elongated second member being adapted to be positioned within a second socket in the watch casing which is aligned with the first socket of the watch casing; and a pick engaging surface formed on the second member for engagement with a pick inserted through the elongated slot in the first tubular member so that the second member can be moved to a retracted position within the first tubular member by the pick for selectively removing or securing the watch band to the watch by the pin assembly. The watch band for use with the above-described connector assembly is provided with tubular links disposed on each hand of the watch band, the tubular links each having an elongated slot formed in one side portion thereof which is aligned with the elongated slot of the elongated tubular first member so that the pick can be positioned there through for engagement with the pick engaging surface formed on the elongated second member of the connector assembly.

5689861 - Strap clasp - Owned by Etablissements Sarran S.A. (FR)

A clasp with a locking flap (8) hingedly mounted between the arms (3a, 3b) of a yoke-shaped member (3) by means of a pin (9) extending through one portion (8a) of said flap (8). Said portion (8a) is shorter than the distance between the two arms (3a, 3b) so that the flap (8) is transversely translatable. The pin (9) has a straight portion (9c) partially inserted into a correspondingly shaped recess (13) in one arm (3b). The pin (9) is thus prevented from rotating about its own axis. The passage (14) in said portion (8a) of the flap which receives the pin (9) has an inlet (14a) shaped to fit said portion (9c) of the pin (9). A coil spring (15) on the pin (9) biases the flap (8) towards said portion (9c) of the pin (9). When the flap (8) is in the folded down or locking position, said portion (9c) of the pin (9) is inserted into the inlet (14a) of the passage (14), thereby locking the flap (8).

5689867 - Interchangeable clasp

An interchangeable clasp comprising a clasp body having a plurality of interconnecting elements consisting of a spring loaded connector member and a receiving recess. The connector typically comprises a hollow cylindrical sleeve and a rigid rod having an outside diameter less than the inner diameter of the hollow cylindrical sleeve. The rigid rod has a proximal end and an opposite distal end with respect to the hollow cylindrical sleeve. The proximal end is engaged with a spring mechanism within the hollow cylindrical sleeve that biases the distal end of the rod to a distal position and allows for movement of the rod between a proximal and a distal position. The distal end culminates in a head member with exterior dimensions such that the head member is capable of being removably inserted within, and retained by a cap end of the receiving recess. The receiving recess is cylindrical in dimension, has an opening through its outer wall and is capped at opposite ends for engaging the connector.
