A bird feeder comprises a sheet of stiff paper or paper board, folded to form a plurality of inclined walls. The walls incline inwardly toward the top, and are of less breadth at the top than at the bottom. The bird feeder is a house, having a floor and a roof, forming an enclosure in which bird feed is contained. A thin, rigid bird platform surrounds the walls at a level above the bottoms of the walls, and is formed of a shaped piece having an opening permitting the platform to be assembled by movement downwardly over the top of the house, into friction contact with the front, back and sidewalls, and held in place by frictional force at a location above the bottoms of the walls. In a preferred form, the bird feeder has one or more longitudinally extending perforations, forming openings for movement of the bird feed from inside the house, for access to the birds on the platform.
A bird feeder that uses the standard size half-gallon rectangular milk type containers commonly used for liquids. The bird feeder includes a base having a front and back. A back support is attached near the back of the base. Two side supports are attached to the base and the back support. A front support is attached between the two side supports. A feed lip is attached to the base near the front of the base. A container area is formed by the front, back, and side supports and is sized just enough to receive and fit the milk type container. A container lip support mounted in the container area between the side supports and near the base to aid in retaining a lip of the milk type container in position.
A disposable wild game feeder for containing and making available feed for the feeding of wild game including birds, squirrels or the like. The feeder has a generally cylindrical, semi-rigid bag having top and bottom ends. The bag is self-standing when placed on the bottom end. It has a device for dispensing feed from the bag and a device for releasably closing the dispensing device so as to retain the feed in the bag during storage. It also has removable device on the bag for supporting wild game adjacent the feeder during feeding therefrom.
A knock-down birdhouse including a front member including an entrance, a rear member, a right side member, a left two side member, a floor member, and a roof member including at least two lip members provided at least partially around opposite inside surfaces of the roof member in the vicinity of an edge of the roof member such that the lip members face each other when the roof member is folded in half. In a disassembled state, the roof member may be folded over to accommodate all other members of the knock-down birdhouse. The birdhouse members are retained within the folded-over roof member by the lip member.
A hummingbird feeder and kit including a solution reservoir, a feeding assembly, and a coupler for unreleasably coupling said feeding assembly to said solution reservoir. The reservoir includes either a dissolvable solid or a premixed feed solution. The unreleasable coupling between the reservoir and the feeding assembly prevents the subsequent re-use of the hummingbird feeders, minimizing the user's contact with bacteria-infested feeding solution and the spread of disease among birds.
A hummingbird feeder and kit including a solution reservoir, a feeding assembly, and a coupler for unreleasably coupling the feeding assembly to the solution reservoir. In one embodiment, the coupler is a frusto-conical member with a channel running along its longitudinal axis connected to a feeding tube. In yet another embodiment, the couple is a set of fins disposed on a distal end of a feeding tube that engages with an orifice on the solution reservoir. In yet another embodiment, the frusto-conical coupler includes at least one tapered flange disposed on its ramped side wall.
