A extension ladder formed of interlocked top and bottom sections has ladder leveler means comprising a pair of sleeve members that slideably encompass the lower end of the bottom section siderails. A short flange on each sleeve member is captivated by a guide member carried on the inside of each lower siderail permitting the sleeve members to be securely retained in operative position on the bottom of the ladder without interference with the free sliding of the ladder top section along the bottom section.
A portable folding ladder comprising a plurality of U-shaped modules having a rung and two vertical portions, the modules movable connected to each other, and when opened becoming progressible narrower as they approach the top of the ladder, when folded the narrower modules fitting inside of the next wider modules and locking means to lock the modules in a rigid manner which when the ladder is extended and open.
A ladder leveling leg has a universal clamping arrangement adapted for fastening to the rail of a ladder of various cross sectional configurations. The leg is adjustably mounted within a guide channel secured to brackets to which a clamping member is adjustably fastened to lock the guide channel to the rail of the ladder. The leveling leg is slidably mounted within the channel and may be secured thereto in selected positions by means of a detent resiliently urged toward cooperating holes in the leveling leg and the channel. Gripping members on the clamping member and one bracket frictionally engage the front and rear walls of the rail as the clamping member is secured to the brackets.
A ladder that would have a plurality of legs that would be independently adjustable from each other is disclosed. Each leg would have an incorporated adjustable leg that could be set at a varying height, with each adjustable leg having a non-skid pad on the bottom to minimize the risk that the ladder would slip when in use.
A ladder leveling accessory system for leveling a ladder on sloped, uneven, or rough surfaces includes a pair of leg extensions held to the rails of the ladder by two sets of bands coupled to the rails of the ladder. The leg extensions are secured in place by a spring loaded handle extending through both leg extensions, the upper bands and the rails of the ladder. In a preferred embodiment, each leg extension includes a pivoting foot having a gripping portion for facilitating secure placement of the foot on a surface.
